PCHRD Scholars' Society - PSS Official page of the PCHRD Scholars' Society (PSS). The association’s objectives are:
1. To develop the graduate’s optimum potential in research.

PSS was organized to develop human resources who will primarily partner with the Council in building and creating an enabling environment for health research. The scholars of the DOST-Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD) voluntarily unite to form a society to strengthen our capacity to support the Council's efforts to create and sustain an enabling environment for health

research in the country. To organize the members’ collective efforts in assisting PCHRD in the fulfillment of its mission to create and sustain an enabling environment for health research in the country;
2. To provide a venue for the exchange of health research information and for the promotion of research utilization to fellow scholars of PCHRD;
3. To facilitate networking/linkages and collaboration for research among the scholars; and

Congratulations, Ms. Nicole! 🎉

Ms. Nicole Jazzmine Escober, an MD-PhD in Molecular Medicine scholar, was an awardee for the Mga Natatanging Mag-aaral ng Medisina ng Pilipinas (MNMMP) 2026 Competition organized by the Association of Philippine Medical Colleges - Student Network (APMC-SN) held on April 11, 2026 at the De La Salle Health and Medical Sciences Institute.

Ms. Escober was able to take home the following awards with her exemplary performance in the areas of academics, research, leadership, and socio-civic engagement:
1. Gawad Para Sa Mga Natatanging Mag-aaral ng Medisina ng Pilipinas- National Awardee, Top 4 Nationwide
2. Gawad Para sa Natatanging Mag-aaral sa Larangan ng Pananaliksik

The APMC-SN is the national alliance of medical student councils in the Philippines. Its annual MNMMP competition was launched last December 2, 2025 to provide recognition to outstanding medical students in the country.

The MD-PhD in Molecular Medicine scholarship is the first and only dual MD-PhD program in the country, in collaboration with the University of the Philippines Manila (UPM). It aims to train aspiring physician-scientists for careers dedicated to advancing health through biomedical research.

The DOST-PCHRD, in collaboration with the University of Toronto – Temerty Faculty of Medicine, Canada, invites applications for the 2026 Postdoctoral Fellowship Program focused on Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD).

This one-year fellowship provides early-career researchers the opportunity to train in a research-intensive environment in Toronto and contribute to advancing liver health, especially through MASLD studies. The program is open to Filipino citizens with an MD-PhD or PhD in a field relevant to health and molecular biology.
