โ€ผ๏ธ IS THIS YOUR LOST PET KITTEN?

A 2โ€“3 month old calico kitten was found last night wandering alone at the Abaca lobby.

We are currently trying to determine if she belongs to a resident, was recently dumped, or is a stray who found her way here.

If you recognize this kitten or know who she belongs to, please send us a message. We would really appreciate any shares within Acacia Estates to help us find her family.

For now, we have once again had to make space to keep this kitten safe while we look for her owner, a possible foster, or an adopter.

---
โ€ผ๏ธ A REMINDER TO EVERYONE:

Cats of Ivory Wood is a community cat program, NOT an animal shelter.

Our resources are primarily intended for the community cats already living in Ivory Wood, through managed feeding and TNVR to responsibly manage their population and welfare.

Our usual approach with healthy new arrivals is fairly simple: monitor and provide food, allow them to find their place within the existing colony, and eventually include them in our kapon+vax efforts.

But kittens, sick cats, and lost/dumped pets with little to no outdoor survival skills are different.

They cannot simply be released into an established colony and left to โ€œfigure things out.โ€ They need to be contained and assessed first, both for their own safety and to protect our existing cats from potential illness.

These not-exactly-stray cats require quarantine, veterinary treatment, fostering, and eventually a new home. This requires resources that our community cat program was NOT designed to provide indefinitely.

We simply cannot keep absorbing responsibility for every new cat that arrives. We do NOT have unlimited resources or space.

Again, do NOT abandon pets or kittens in IVW/Acacia Estates. If you are having difficulty caring for a cat, please reach out before leaving them just anywhere outside. We can at least try to point you toward safer options.

---
For this mini calico, our immediate priority is finding a foster and raising funds for the medical and other needs of all these new arrivals.

She is our 6th new arrival (and 3rd kitten) since June, and our 10th new one for the year. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Itโ€™s simply too much for a community cat program already caring for an existing colony.

To be completely transparent, we currently almost have no funds left for August. After replenishing our essential supplies and settling pending vet bills, we have less than โ‚ฑ1,000 remaining in our cat fund, despite our consistent fundraising efforts and the help weโ€™ve received from the community.๐Ÿ’”

If youโ€™d like to help us keep up with the growing number of cats coming in, you can donate here:

๐ŸŒง๏ธ STAY SAFE & DRY, EVERYONE! โ˜”

With the rainy weather we've been having, you may see some of our community cats taking shelter in common areas or looking for safe, dry spots.

Please be patient with them during this time. They may be a little more visible than usual as they look for somewhere comfortable to wait out the rain.

If you see a cat taking shelter, please give them some space and do not bother them for everyone's safety.

๐Ÿš— And please do check under and around your cars before starting your vehicle. Cats may seek shelter around parked cars during rainy weather. If you spot one, gently shoo them away from the vehicle before starting it, without harming or frightening them.

Thank you! Stay safe, stay dry, and let's help our community cats do the same! โ˜”๏ธ๐Ÿฑ

๐Ÿฅ AUGUST 2026 DONATION TRACKER ๐Ÿฅ

Goal: โ‚ฑ15,000.00
Raised: โ‚ฑ0.00 (as of August 7)

Thank you for helping us reach our โ‚ฑ 10k goal last July. But we're not going to sugarcoat it... this month is A LOT (hence the bigger goal). We need your help just to keep up.๐Ÿ™

---
Our 26 community cats rely on daily care to stay fed, safe, and healthy.

This month, we need your help more than ever. Since June, 5 (!!!) new cats popped up in Ivory Wood โ€” 6, if we count one more who was tragically hit by a car last Aug 2 (the morning after he was first reported to us, before we could even make space for him). ๐Ÿ˜ข

3 of the 5 new cats are very sick. Despite the lack of space and funds, we had to contain and treat them fast to protect our OG colony from getting sick too. On top of that, adoptable boy Pichi needs dental work for his ongoing gingivitis.

Every additional cat means additional strain on an already limited budget, but with your support, we can make sure they all get the care they need.

---
This August, we aim to raise at least โ‚ฑ15,000 for:

๐Ÿ“ฆ Monthly food and care supplies

๐Ÿ’Š Medical care for our sick newcomers:

1. POMPOM โ€” we thought we were just treating his cold, but he apparently also needs full dental extraction ASAP (as in ASAP)

2. CLOUDY (formerly known as Mimi) โ€” eye issue, one eye is still cloudy and still needs treatment

3. WOBBLY BOBBY โ€” one of the newest arrivals with a myriad of issues: a cold, wounds on his face, unexplained wobbliness, and a suspected kidney issue. We need to raise funds to figure out what's wrong with this super sweet suspected lost/abandoned pet.

๐Ÿฆท Pichi's dental cleaning, possibly including extraction

๐Ÿ“Œ Reminder (yes paulit ulit na but apparently still needs to be said):

Cats of Ivory Wood is a resident volunteer-run community cat TNVR program, NOT an animal shelter or rescue. Please do not abandon/dump cats in Ivory Wood or anywhere in Acacia Estates. Aside from being illegal (RA 8485), every "dumped" cat adds real strain to an already limited budget and space. If you can no longer care for a pet, please look into proper rehoming options instead. You can also do what we do, we are just simple residents like you.

โ€ผ๏ธ IS THIS YOUR PET CAT?

This orange-and-white male cat with a bent tail is one of the three new cats we mentioned in our earlier post.

Sadly, one of the three was fatally hit by a vehicle yesterday. Another had to be quarantined because he was clearly unwell and needs treatment (has sipon, is wobbly and couldn't walk straight). Unfortunately, our isolation space is already full, so we are unable to safely contain this cat for observation now.

If he is someone's missing pet, we hope to reunite him with his family as soon as possible. Newly arrived cats in unfamiliar surroundings are especially vulnerable and at greater risk of accidents.

If you recognize this cat or know who he belongs to, please send us a message.

If not, please help us by sharing this post so we can reach more people who may recognize him.

And as always, if you see a cat crossing the road, please slow down and give them time to get to safety.

Thank you. ๐Ÿงก

Just a few days ago, we were celebrating one of our happiest moments this year: seeing Tikoy, a suspected former pet turned community cat, finally find his forever home.

We love sharing stories like his because they remind us why this work matters.

But today, we also have to share the difficult reality behind community cat welfare.

In the past few days, three new cats were reported in our community. We were only able to safely quarantine one, who was visibly unwell, because our isolation room was already full. The other two had to remain outdoors while we tried to help them learn where our feeding stations were.

We never got the chance.

Last Sunday morning, before we could even post about the 2 newest ones or find out if someone was looking for them, the all orange one was reported to have been unfortunately hit by a vehicle.

We don't know his story.

He may have been someone's beloved pet who got lost. He may have been abandoned. He may have simply wandered into our community.

We may never know.

What we do know is that newly arrived cats are incredibly vulnerable.

Unlike our established community cats, they don't know where to find food or water. They don't know which areas are safe or dangerous. They haven't learned the feeding routines or found their place yet.

This incident is also part of a worrying pattern we've been seeing this year. Nearly every new cat that has suddenly appeared in our community has been unusually friendly with people and is suspected to have previously lived in a home. One was even already neutered before arriving here (Pompom). Many are also found already sick and requiring medical attention (like Pompom, again).

Whether they were abandoned, displaced, or simply lost, these cats need dedicated care. They don't know how to survive outdoors overnight. At the same time, they can unknowingly introduce illnesses that put our established community cats at risk, which is why quarantine is so important whenever possible.

Please don't mistake our community cat program for an animal shelter.

We are resident volunteers caring for the cats who already call Ivory Wood home. We do not have unlimited space, cages, foster homes, or funds to safely take in every new cat that appears.

Every unexpected arrival means weeks of monitoring, quarantine, veterinary care, medication (if needed), and rehoming (if deemed unfit to be an outdoor cat and can't be integrated in our established colony). We are already operating at full capacity.

If you can no longer care for a pet, or if you find a cat that may need help, please reach out to us first instead of quietly leaving them in a community with existing feeders. It may seem like giving them a chance, but for a cat unfamiliar with the area, it can instead become a death sentence.

Every cat deserves the chance to be safe, receive proper care, and, if someone is searching for them, be reunited with their family.

Sadly, this little one never got that chance.

Rest easy, little one.

We're sorry we didn't have more time to help you. ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’”

---
To everyone who continues to support Cats of Ivory Wood through volunteering, fostering, donations, or simply helping us spread awareness, thank you.

By educating our community and encouraging responsible pet ownership, we can help prevent more stories like this and give every cat a better chance at a safe life.

๐ŸŽ‰ TIKOY FOUND HIS FUREVER HOME! ๐ŸŽ‰

Our hearts are so full for our big boy Tikoy has officially found his forever family! ๐Ÿงก

Thank you so much to his new family for opening your home and hearts to him. We know he'll be spoiled with all the love he deserves, and we can't wait to see him thrive in his new life. ๐Ÿ’–

Every adoption reminds us why we do what we do, and we're so grateful to everyone who supported Tikoy's journey.

โ€ผ๏ธ IS THIS YOUR PET CAT?

Another new cat was found last night at Flores Building.

This orange/yellow male cat appears to be someone's pet. He's incredibly friendly and affectionate, and was following residents to their units as if trying to find his way home.

If you recognize him or know who his owner is, please send us a message. Kindly help share this post so we can reunite him with his family. ๐Ÿงก

โ€”
For now, he has been safely contained while we observe his condition. We can't risk introducing illness to our established community cat colony.

And once again: Cats of Ivory Wood is NOT an animal shelter. We are a small, volunteer-run TNVR and community cat program.

This is already the 4th new cat we've been forced to take in since June. We are out of isolation space, stretched thin, and running out of funds for quarantine and veterinary care.

Please do not abandon or leave pet cats for us to deal with. We simply do not have the resources. Hay.

If no owner comes forward, this sweet boy will need a new home. We're also urgently looking for a temporary foster while we figure out the next steps.

If you can foster or if this is your cat, please PM us immediately. Thank you ๐Ÿ™
