ICYMI | MS Essentials 2.0: Crafting Effective Lesson Plans & Instructional Materials
Last April 17, 2026, the Mentorsโ Society brought MS Essentials 2.0. into Week 4 with the theme โZoning the Next Generation Educators.โ From 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, BSED students gathered for a day dedicated to developing their skills in crafting effective lesson plans and instructional materials.
Originally set to take place face-to-face at the NCRPO Audio-Visual Room, the session shifted online via Google Meet and Facebook Live following a memorandum from the Sta. Mesa Campus. Despite the sudden change, participants remained highly enthused to participate.
Guided by the energetic Masters of Ceremony, Ma. Angelica Lozada and Austin Jay Macauyam, the webinar maintained a lively and interactive atmosphere.
The highlight of the Webinar was the discussion led by key speaker, Mr. Alexander Ignacio, former Principal of Monlimar Development Academy, Inc. and current professor at PUP-Taguig. Drawing from his extensive experience, he delivered insightful discussions on designing lesson plans and instructional materials.
Throughout both morning and afternoon sessions, Mr. Ignacio emphasized that effective instructional materials should not only be visually appealing but also purposeful and learner-centered.
โWhen evaluating instructional materials, we do not just ask if they look good,โ as Mr. Ignacio noted. โCreativity in making instructional materials is not just about making things colorful or attractive, it is about making learning engaging, interactive, and memorable.โ
With a focus on accuracy, relevance, and creativity, Week 4 of MS Essentials 2.0 truly embodied its theme, Zoning the Next Generation Educators, as it equipped future educators with the skills they need to be able to build meaningful and impactful learning experiences.
