๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ | ๐๐ข๐๐ ๐๐๐ก๐๐ ๐ก๐๐ซ๐ข 2026: PUP Taguig Pride Month Celebration
On Tuesday, June 30, 2026, PUP Taguigโs Central Student Council held an event titled ๐๐ข๐๐ ๐๐๐ก๐๐ ๐ก๐๐ซ๐ข: ๐๐ข๐ง๐๐ข๐ , ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐๐ฒ, ๐๐ญ ๐๐๐ ๐ค๐๐ค๐๐ฉ๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐ฒ-๐ฉ๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐ฒ, which officially started at ๐:๐๐ ๐๐ at the Building A Quadrangle.
The program was hosted by John Vincent Roblo and Sandra Laynne Biador, who brought energy and enthusiasm throughout the event as they kept everyone engaged and active.
"Ang ating selebrasyon ay pagtindig at patuloy na paglaban sa ating karapatan," shared Jhay Dominique Velasco, the Event Head, as he formally welcomed the participants through his ๐๐ฉ๐๐ง๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ฆ๐๐ซ๐ค๐ฌ. "We hope na mag-enjoy kayo sa mga ni-ready naming mga performances and surprises," he added as he highlighted the performances and surprises that the participants could look forward to.
The celebration came alive through a series of performances. The audience enjoyed an opening dance performance by Franzen "Z" Lagartera, followed by musical renditions from Edrian Dagooc, who performed Sirena, Upuan by Gloc-9, and YK by Cean Jr. Additionally, Arjay Carilo then performed Die on This Hill and Hanggang Ngayon. Lastly, Aaron Jeus Pizzaras entertained the audience through a dance performance.
Following the performances, the talented performers were recognized through an awarding ceremony in appreciation of their contributions to the success of the program, as their performances reflected the event's commitment to celebrating individuality through artistry. They also gave the โBest Outfit Awardโ to Leigh Gabrielle Beler as she showcased her confidence and uniqueness through her outfit.
"Tunay nga bang inklusibo ang PUP-Taguig?" was the question posed by Kianpaul Belina, the CSC Vice President for Internal Affairs, as he began his speech. He emphasized the importance of support and expression of an inclusive and compassionate community for students. "Nananawagan po tayo na para sana sa susunod na termino [ay] luwagan o ayusin [iyong] mga ganitong problema [Dress Code Policy]," he added as he expressed his hope to continue the legacy of serving the students.
One of the highlights of the celebration was the Pride March, where members of the LGBTQIA+ community, students, allies, and participants proudly marched together in a colorful display of unity and acceptance. This symbolized the collective commitment to uphold the dignity and rights of every individual, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.
"Ngayong Pride Month, muli nating pinapatunayan na ang pride ay hindi lang tungkol sa makukulay na bandila, magagandang kasuotan, o selebrasyon, dahil ang Pride ay Protesta," said Kamilah Joie Cabra, the CSC President, as she delivered her ๐๐ฅ๐จ๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ฆ๐๐ซ๐ค๐ฌ to officially conclude the event. She also emphasized that the program was not only a celebration but also a call to continuously fight against discrimination, oppression, and systems that continue to marginalize students, especially those in the LGBTQIA+ community. She likewise expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all the CSC officers and the JEEP Committee officers for their dedication and service to their fellow PUPTians throughout their term.
The celebration concluded at ๐:๐๐ ๐๐, becoming a powerful expression of courage, diversity, and inclusivity. It served as a reminder that every color, every voice, every identity, and every form of self-expression deserves to be seen, heard, cherished, and celebrated.
