FEATURE | There is No Pause in Their Calloused Hands

On this Labor Day, we honor the unseen hours, the quiet sacrifices, the stories carried in every calloused hand. You are the pillars of why we stand strong today. You are the steady rhythm beneath our hurried lives, the strength beneath our comforts, the soul within the ordinary. And in every breath of this spinning world, you are there. We see you, notice you, and definitely care for all of you.

LOCAL | PUPCET 2026 Concludes Successfully at PUP Taguig

Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Taguig Campus held the PUP College Entrance Test (PUPCET) 2026 last April 25, 2026. Around 5,000 examinees filled the campus grounds, each carrying the hope of becoming a PUPTian as they mark the beginning of their college journey.

The summer heat combined with the pressure of the exam created a challenging atmosphere, yet the determination of the examinees shone through as they patiently lined up outside the campus gates along with their parents and guardians.

Behind the scenes, the event ran smoothly because of the hard work and dedication of the facilitators, including the school administrators, faculty members, non-teaching staff, proctors, and marshals who oversaw the success of this crucial event.

Long before the examinees arrived, the facilitators had already entered the school early to prepare classrooms, arrange seating, and double-check materials so that everything would be in place. Their effort and teamwork turned what could have been a stressful day into a well-managed and successful event.

Now that the exam has ended, examinees are encouraged to remain patient and hopeful as they look forward to the official release of results. For official updates and announcements, examinees are advised to regularly check PUP Taguigโ€™s official page.

As the examinees await for the official result, they are encouraged to remain hopeful, carrying with them the enduring commitment of the university:

Lagiโ€™t-lagi para sa bayan.

ADVISORY | PUP Classes shift to Synchronous Learning Mode of teaching and learning

On April 28, 2026, Tuesday, the Polytechnic University of the Philippines Taguig Campus will shift to Synchronous Learning Mode of teaching and learning due to the expected heat index, reaching 42ยฐC under โ€˜Dangerโ€™ category according to the weather forecast of Taguig Open Weather and Environment Reporting (TOWER) system.

Meanwhile, the undergraduate classes that have required face-to-face sessions (such as laboratory classes, field study, and major/departmental examinations) may proceed to in-person mode of teaching and learning as scheduled.

This arrangement is intended to provide flexibility for students, faculty, and staff members while allowing the university to conduct important sessions in-person.

Please be guided accordingly, PUPTians!

ICYMI | MS Essentials 2.0: Crafting Effective Lesson Plans & Instructional Materials

Last April 17, 2026, the Mentorsโ€™ Society brought MS Essentials 2.0. into Week 4 with the theme โ€œZoning the Next Generation Educators.โ€ From 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, BSED students gathered for a day dedicated to developing their skills in crafting effective lesson plans and instructional materials.

Originally set to take place face-to-face at the NCRPO Audio-Visual Room, the session shifted online via Google Meet and Facebook Live following a memorandum from the Sta. Mesa Campus. Despite the sudden change, participants remained highly enthused to participate.

Guided by the energetic Masters of Ceremony, Ma. Angelica Lozada and Austin Jay Macauyam, the webinar maintained a lively and interactive atmosphere.

The highlight of the Webinar was the discussion led by key speaker, Mr. Alexander Ignacio, former Principal of Monlimar Development Academy, Inc. and current professor at PUP-Taguig. Drawing from his extensive experience, he delivered insightful discussions on designing lesson plans and instructional materials.

Throughout both morning and afternoon sessions, Mr. Ignacio emphasized that effective instructional materials should not only be visually appealing but also purposeful and learner-centered.

โ€œWhen evaluating instructional materials, we do not just ask if they look good,โ€ as Mr. Ignacio noted. โ€œCreativity in making instructional materials is not just about making things colorful or attractive, it is about making learning engaging, interactive, and memorable.โ€

With a focus on accuracy, relevance, and creativity, Week 4 of MS Essentials 2.0 truly embodied its theme, Zoning the Next Generation Educators, as it equipped future educators with the skills they need to be able to build meaningful and impactful learning experiences.

FEATURE | Courage Remembered, Courage Lived: The Enduring Meaning of Araw ng Kagitingan

Every year on April 09, flags across the Philippines are raised, not in celebration, but in solemn remembrance. Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Valor) stands as one of the most meaningful commemorations in the countryโ€™s calendar, as it honors the bravery, sacrifice, and unwavering spirit of those who fought during World War II.

IN PHOTOS I ALPAS NG GABRIELA: PUP TAGUIGโ€™S WOMENโ€™S MONTH CELEBRATION

On March 25, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. PUP Taguigโ€™s Aquarium buzzed with energy for "Alpas ng Gabriela: Pagpupugay sa Lakas, Tinig, at Paninindigan ng Kababaihan." Organized by the Central Student Council (CSC), the afternoon was a vibrant bazaar-style celebration dedicated to honoring the power and voices of women.

The event kicked off with students exploring a variety of interactive booths that filled the venue. Instead of a traditional program, the focus was on engagement and community. The Photobooth immediately became a popular stop, with friends lining up to capture memories of the day, while drink booths provided refreshments to keep everyoneโ€™s energy high as they navigated the different stations.

As the afternoon progressed, the spotlight shifted to the Trivia Game, which tested students' knowledge of womenโ€™s historical contributions. This wasn't just a simple quiz; the stakes were high as participants competed for special rewards. Those who proved their knowledge walked away with crochet flowers, a unique and lasting prize that symbolized the "Lakas" and "Tinig" of the women being celebrated.

The creative spirit of the bazaar continued at the DIY stations, where students spent time making their own bookmarks. This hands-on activity allowed everyone to create a personalized keepsake to take home. Nearby, the crochet and beads booths drew crowds, showcasing fancy handmade crafts that highlighted the patience and artistry of the student artists.

Even after the booths were cleared by 6:00 p.m., the message of the event remained clear. While the prizes have been won and the bookmarks finished, the celebration of Women's Month continues. The recognition of womenโ€™s contributions doesn't stop with a single afternoon bazaar; rather, the spirit of "Alpas" stays alive as the university continues to honor and uplift the voices of women in every aspect of campus life.

ICMYI | Womenโ€™s Month Celebration at PUP Taguig

On March 19, 2026, the PUP Taguig community came together to celebrate Womenโ€™s Month at the Aquarium from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, featuring a vibrant array of booths and exhibitions. With the theme โ€œAlpas ng Gabriela: Pagpupugay sa Lakas, Tinig, at Paninindigan ng Kababaihan,โ€ the event highlighted the strength, voice, and resilience of women while fostering inclusivity among all genders.

The venue was filled with interactive booths thoughtfully prepared to engage PUPTians in meaningful activities that promoted awareness, empowerment, and appreciation of womenโ€™s rights and contributions. Each booth offered unique experiences that encouraged participants to reflect, learn, and actively take part in advocating for gender equality and social progress.

The celebration served as a platform for students to express solidarity and support for womenโ€™s empowerment, creating a dynamic and inspiring environment where participants explored important issues, celebrated achievements, and strengthened their commitment to building a more inclusive and equitable society.

PUPTians enthusiastically participated by exploring the booths and immersing themselves in activities that honored the courage, brilliance, and strength of women.
