إنا لله و إنا اليه راجعون
كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ ۖ ثُمَّ إِلَيْنَا تُرْجَعُونَ
"Every soul will taste death, and then to Us you will be returned."
Back in 2016, Darul Ferdauz Educational Center Inc. was established in Maharlika Village, Taguig City, Philippines, to care for orphaned and underprivileged children. We started with just 10 orphans, and we had no idea where we would find the resources to provide for their needs. We only relied on the generosity of kind-hearted people willing to help our students. Alhamdulillah (All praise is due to Allah).
When Ramadan 2016 arrived, we suddenly received grocery supplies for the children under our care, and we had no idea where they came from—we only knew they were given to us. Alhamdulillah, for there are people who help even those they do not know. The same blessing came when Ramadan 2017 arrived: we received more grocery donations again from an anonymous benefactor. Alhamdulillah. Then, when Ramadan 2018 came, we finally met the person who had been providing us with groceries every Ramadan—his name is Brother Bilal El Saadi, who is based in Australia. Alhamdulillah; we only got to know him after three years of him quietly providing for us. Alhamdulillah.
During his next visit to us in 2019, he introduced us to his colleagues from INOH, or In Need Of Help Australia. This organization became the reason our community grew and expanded, until we now care for 80 to 90 boys and 50 girls—three-quarters of whom are orphans and underprivileged children. Every year, many of the children memorize the Quran and graduate from our institution, all made possible through the support and sponsorship of INOH, through Brother Bilal El Saadi who connected us with them and made us one of the organization’s beneficiaries to this very day. Alhamdulillah.
Although you have left us, my brother Bilal El Saadi, the lives you touched will never be forgotten. The orphaned children you supported are now teaching and sharing knowledge of Islam—and this is what we call Sadaqah Jariyah (continuous charity): a good deed that, even when you are no longer in this world, continues to bring reward for you until the end of time. In sha Allah (God willing).
Your name, Bilal El Saadi, will forever remain in our hearts and minds. You came to us to help sustain the lives of children who once had no one and very little, and you gave hope to children who had lost all hope for a better future. We will never forget the kindness you shared with us. In sha Allah, we will constantly pray to Allah for you, and we hope and pray that we will be honest witnesses on the Day of Judgment that you helped us selflessly, with no expectation of return. We will be your witnesses in the Hereafter, so that you may enter Paradise as a reward for your great kindness and compassion toward orphaned and underprivileged children.
On behalf of everyone at Darul Ferdauz Educational Center Inc., we thank you from the depths of our hearts and bid farewell to your passing. May Allah grant you the highest ranks in Paradise, as well as your family and all the members of In Need Of Help Australia.
Thank you so very much, Brother Bilal El Saadi. We love you, our beloved brother.
From your Family in the Philippines,
