Momo, aka Momobear, aka Mommertz, aka Meowmeow, strutted into our lives like the soft diva we didn’t know we needed. ✨
Before she became queen of the house 👑, Momo first found safety at Mulberry Place during the heavy rains of June 2023. She had this slow, unsteady walk that caught the attention of a volunteer, who gently took her and gave her a quiet place to rest. With some care and patience provided to her by the CMLP volunteers, she slowly found her strength again.
And somewhere in that recovery, she became besties with crush ng bayan, Taho. They became friends rq like two tired souls who seemed to understand each other without needing much. They kept each other company in the building’s pump room, where volunteers took turns taking care of them. 🤍
At first, she kept her distance but she never hid. She just hovered around the room. She liked knowing you were there but didn’t rush in for affection. She made the first move in her own time, curling beside us without asking. Girlypop knew what she was doing. 😼
Our evening routine now begins with a deliberate plop onto the bed (you can always tell when it’s her lol). She kneads with true focus, like girly needed to work for tips. 😅 When she’s done, she flops right onto the pillow like she owns it. And she does. There’s no choice but to adjust to her majesty, making space for her and all her chonk.
These days, Momo runs the house. We always tell her to look after everyone when we need to leave her home. She’s now grown into a full-blown diva. When we come home, she’s already at the door, pretending she wasn’t waiting. 🐈⬛🚪 If she’s downstairs, she refuses to come up unless fetched.
But in all her moods, in all her quiet ways, Momo has made us softer. More present. More responsible, even when she’s not trying to teach anything. She reminds us to pause, to care, to feed her before we forget to feed ourselves. We feel her love in the spaces she claims between our feet, on our pillow, waiting by the door like clockwork. ⏰🧸
She taught us that presence is more important than attention. That love doesn’t have to be loud to be real. 💗
Now all we know is it’s Momo’s world, and we are just living in it. 🌍😽
