Last Tuesday, March 24, 2026, the Gen.Ricardo G. Papa Sr. Memorial High School Ususan Annex gathered at the St. Ignatius Loyola Parish Church for the Baccalaureate and Thanksgiving Mass. The sacred ceremony, held for our dedicated completers and graduates, was officiated by Reverend Father Emmaniel Hipolito.

As we conclude this academic chapter, our School Principal, Dr. Noreen Baus-Billanes, delivered moving closing remarks. She emphasized that the diploma is not for the students alone. It belongs to every person who served as a pillar of supportโ€”our parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and siblingsโ€”as well as the teachers who guided us. It is a tribute to everyone who gave us a reason to persevere.

Dr. Noreen also challenged the graduates and completers to truly embody the essence of being "Lumina" (the light). She stressed that excellence should not be kept as a personal honor; rather, it must be shared with others through service and practiced with unwavering integrity. This spirit perfectly enriches our school motto: "A school of diversity, a garden of inclusivity."

Above all, she left the batch with a final, vital reminder: to always Trust in the Lord as we navigate the new chapters and challenges that lie ahead.

In a touching moment of gratitude, class presidents from each section presented farewell messages and tokens of appreciation to their respective class advisers.

The success of this spiritual milestone was made possible through the leadership of Dr. Noreen Baus-Billanes, in collaboration with the Values Education Department under the supervision of Maโ€™am Sharon Lacara, Values Coordinator and the St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish

Behind Every Smile Could Be a Silent Cryโ€”End Bullying Now!

B.U.L.L.Y.I.N.G.

Numerous students suffer in silence, hiding their suffering with lowered gazes and fake smiles. Even though they might not seem like much, things like pushing in the hallway, whispering behind their back, and making cruel jokes can leave a lasting impression.

Furthermore, we should be concerned about more than just the bruises because they cause people to lose their sense of self-worth, become isolated, and experience anxiety, fear, and broken confidence for a long time. Their will to continue is also taken away, in addition to their safety.

Every person deserves a safe environment in which they can grow, learn, and be themselves; schools should be places of learning rather than fear. For simply being themselves and showing up, no one should experience feelings of isolation, shame, or insecurity. Bullying is never harmless, whether it occurs verbally, physically, or online; it is a type of emotional violence that can destroy lives.

Letโ€™s challenge cruelty, break the silence, and foster an environment where empathy is dominantly practicedโ€” where students feels heard, seen, and protected.

Itโ€™s time to speak up!
It's time to break the chain!
If you see it, STOP IT.
If you hear it, CHALLENGE IT.
If youโ€™ve lived it, SHARE YOUR STORY.

Your voice matters. Together, we can build a space of empathy, inclusion, and courageโ€”where kindness is the norm, not the exception.

Letโ€™s protect each other. Choose compassion over cruelty. And make our schools safe for everyone.

Mental health matters.
Kindness is powerfulโ€”use it every day.

Bullying is more than just words or actionsโ€”it can leave lasting effects on a personโ€™s confidence and mental health. This is why we must take a stand and create a safe environment where everyone feels respected and valued. Let us choose kindness, speak up against injustice, and support one another. Together, we can stop bullying and make a difference.
