Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo shared a powerful reminder to young athletes as the Palarong Bicol 2026 officially kicked off at Bicol University in Legazpi City, Albay, on Sunday, March 1.

In an interview with local newsmen, Robredo emphasized that the worth of an athlete should not be measured solely by medals or championships.

"I do not want any young athlete to feel that winning is the only measure of their worth," the mayor said. "They should never feel compelled to win at all costs."

Robredo highlighted that the true essence of the games lies in the "growth, the memories they create, and the life lessons they carry with them long after the cheers have faded."

Sa ikalawang araw ng ating Relief Operations para sa mga nasalanta ng bagyong , nakapag-abot tayo ng tulong sa 10,225 na pamilya at indibidwal.

Umabot na sa Php 12,438,878.55 ang pumasok na donasyon sa Kaya Natin! Movement for Good Governance and Ethical Leadership, at nasa Php 4,958,499.08 ang halaga ng in-kind donations ang ating natanggap.

Nakapag-deploy din tayo ng 45 rescue boats upang palakasin pa ang kapasidad nating makatulong sa mga ongoing rescue operations.

Maraming salamat sa ating donors, volunteers, at partner organizations!

Sa unang araw ng ating Relief Operations para sa mga nasalanta ng bagyong , nakapag-abot tayo ng tulong sa 8,875 na pamilya at indibidwal.

Umabot na sa Php 4,210,305.46 ang pumasok na donasyon sa Kaya Natin! Movement for Good Governance and Ethical Leadership, at nasa Php 2,017,305.46 ang halaga ng in-kind donations ang ating natanggap.

Nakapag-deploy din tayo ng 45 rescue boats upang palakasin pa ang kapasidad nating makatulong sa mga ongoing rescue operations.

Angat Buhay is now accepting in-kind donations to support our ongoing relief efforts. Starting today, donations can be dropped off at the Museo ng Pag-asa, 84 Cordillera St., Sta Mesa Heights, Quezon City. Trucks will be departing from our office daily, heading to Naga City.

As you prepare your contributions, we kindly ask for your cooperation with the following guidelines:

1. Prioritize easy-to-eat food items for quick and convenient distribution.

2. Consider donating in bulk (the same item) to make loading, repacking, and distributing more efficient.

3. Avoid non-essential items so we can focus on the most urgent needs.

Please note that we will prioritize purchasing vegetables, meat, and fish through our local partners in Naga for distribution to those in need.
