Church organist, pianist and composer before his teens, a holder of degrees in music and philosophy, Rodolfo Cornejo was a man of rare genius, says violinist Gina Medina, yet has slipped into near obscurity. The Filipino String Teachers Association brings his name and music to new ears with an album of chamber works, center of which is a jewel of his output, the Violin Sonata. This MAESTRO FILIPINO with Tiffany (Sat 1200, Sun 2400, Thu 2000), hear that work in its entirety, plus a conversation with Gina Medina (FSTA president and co-founder) and the sons of Dr Rodolfo Cornejo, Rod and Redentor.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our four esteemed judges Dr. Peter Porticos, Ms. Corinna Lapeña-Llorin, Dr. Jonathan David Livioco, and Ms. Amber Murillo-dela Torre for their time, expertise, and dedication to nurturing the next generation of Filipino musicians.

Thank you to all our contestants, parents, and teachers for your continued support of FSTA. To those who qualified for the finals -- congratulations, and we are rooting for you!

EVENT RECAP: Passion and Poetry: A Tribute to Mothers

On May 10, violinst KayCee Galano and pianist Kristiann Galano wrapped up their local tour with a concert at St. Scholastica’s College Manila. The afternoon at Corazon Aquino Hall was filled with beautiful music and thoughtful playing by the duo as they performed Filipino art songs and works by Mozart, Paganini, Kreisler, and Ysaÿe. It was definitely the perfect treat for Mother’s Day 💖

Thank you to everyone who joined us! We look forward to seeing you again in our future events.
