Hagar, an Egyptian servant, and her son Ishmael, the son of Abraham, were sent away by Abraham at the request of his wife, Sarah. With bread and a bottle of water, they wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba until their supply of water ran out, leaving them close to death from thirst. Unable to bear watching her child die, Hagar placed Ishmael under a bush and wept nearby.
Hagar cried because she was certain that they would die in the wilderness, but God heard Ishmael crying, and an angel called to Hagar, opened her eyes to a well of water, and promised that Ishmael would become a great nation.
Like Hagar, you must've been in a situation where failures and disappointments are the only certain thing in your life. We have our own wilderness, where you see no glimpse of hope and have no idea how to face the situation that you're in. But in hopeless moments, God sees and hears. And God is more than willing to help you because he loves you. In times when all you can see is the situation before you, when you have no strength left to face everything, and when hope seems absent, cry out to God. Because he listens, and he will open your eyes to see a well of water. To see that he is with you, that he loves you, that he is the God of hope.
The situation you are in may be great, but God is the greatest! And great is the hope that he gives to the people who believe and follow him.🕊️
