We, concerned individuals and organizations, strongly condemned and expressed our grave concern and indignation over the reported “Operation Supak” carried out on 11 November 2025 in Barangay Layog, Pagalungan, Maguindanao del Sur. According to community accounts and local news reports, barangay officials, barangay tanods, and members of the religious sector forcibly entered private homes of individuals suspected of being LGBTQIA+ or living with same-sex partners. At least two women and several LGBTQIA+ persons were taken from their residences without a warrant, transported to the barangay hall, and subjected to interrogation, moral lectures, and public shaming.

Officials overseeing the operation claimed that same-sex cohabitation is “prohibited” under religious teachings and cited an alleged directive from the municipal mayor to enforce separation of same-sex partners. Individuals were told to end their relationships, warned against “immoral behavior,” and forcibly separated from their partners—an act that has no legal basis under Philippine law.

These events indicate a coordinated moral policing operation targeting LGBTQIA+ individuals, violating their fundamental rights to privacy, dignity, liberty, and equal protection under the law.

On September 23, Tagoloan Gender Advocacy Group attended the Committee Meeting of the Committee on Women and Family, Gender and Development of the Sangguniang Bayan of Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental. The committee meeting is to further the discussion on the Anti-Discrimination Ordinance endorsed by our organization.

The committee meeting was led by the Committee's Vice Chairperson, Hon. Mikka Nabong-Sultan, together with Hon. Honey Emano-Doña, Hon. Kim Agustero, and Municipal GAD Director Mx. Jonathan Barros.

We, Mindanao-based community-based organizations and school-based organizations, joins the Filipino people in today’s nationwide protest against corruption in the Philippine government.

We firmly stand in disgust at the rampant and shameless corruption that continues to plague our nation. While countless Filipinos suffer from floods, hunger, crisis in education, inequality, poor healthcare, and the inadequate delivery of government services, many public officials and politicians shamelessly take advantage of their positions and steal from the people’s money.

The people’s taxes must be used to uplift lives and ensure the dignity of every Filipino. Yet those in power continue to betray public trust by pocketing billions of pesos meant for the nation’s development. This is a gross injustice and a crime against the Filipino people.

Today, we stand in solidarity with other civil society organizations, students, workers, and communities rising across the country to denounce corruption. We demand accountability. We call on the Marcos administration to conduct a comprehensive and rigorous investigation into all forms of corruption, not only in the flood control projects of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) but in all government agencies. Those found guilty must be held to account and jailed for their crimes against the nation.

The fight against corruption is a fight for justice, equality, and a better future for every Filipino. We rise because we refuse to be silenced. We rise because the Filipino people deserve leaders who are honest, accountable, and truly serve the people.
