Our heart is filled with joy as we fulfill our commitment to support the Samahan ng Katutubong Sayaw ng Pilipinas by participating in the Paligsahan ng Katutubong Sayaw during the National Folk Dance Workshop 2026.

A special mention goes to the participants from Guindulman, Bohol who proudly presented their unpublished dance, Lanceros de Guindulman. Their dedication and passion for preserving our local heritage are truly inspiring.

I cannot help but look back to the National Folk Dance Workshop 2025, when only a few Boholanos were able to attend. This year, the difference is remarkable. Not only did we actively compete in the Paligsahan and present an unpublished dance, but many more delegates from Bohol joined the workshop.

Seeing this renewed enthusiasm gives me so much hope. Step by step, Philippine Folk Dance Society – Bohol Chapter (PFDS Bohol) is finding its way back on track.

The journey may be gradual, but the passion to preserve, promote, and celebrate our cultural heritage is stronger than ever. ❤️💃🇵🇭

We are proud to congratulate April Jay Banquil and Frank Anthony B. Mascariñas. The Bohol Arts and Cultural Heritage Council elected them to lead the Committee on Dance. We celebrate their commitment to preserving our cultural heritage. Their leadership will strengthen our local arts community.

Sir Frank continues his work in Boholano arts. He already guides dancers as the President of the Philippine Folk Dance Society Bohol Chapter. He now brings that dedication to the BACH Dance Committee. Both leaders give their time to ensure local dance programs succeed. Let's support them as they take on this responsibility to guide our cultural community.

𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐑𝐞-𝐄𝐜𝐡𝐨 𝐅𝐨𝐥𝐤 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩

As part of the National Arts Month 2026 celebration, participants, teachers, cultural workers, and dance trainers gathered in Trinidad, Bohol on February 9, 2026 to conclude a three-day folk dance workshop. Spearheaded by the Philippine Folk Dance Society PFDS Bohol Chapter, the initiative aligns with this year’s national campaign to promote and safeguard Philippine artistic heritage. With the theme “Sayaw nga Tinuod, Kultura nga Buhi,” the workshop focused on teaching authentic and standardized folk dance techniques that honor the stories and spirit of Boholano ancestors.

The Provincial Government of Bohol, through the Center for Culture and Arts Development and the Bohol Arts and Cultural Heritage Council, supported the activity and reaffirmed its commitment to cultural education as a cornerstone of National Arts Month observances. The Local Government Unit of Trinidad served as host of the workshop, working hand in hand with organizers to strengthen the capabilities of educators and learners and to ensure that traditional dances remain a vibrant and living part of Boholano identity.
