The spirit of sustainable agriculture took root in Carmen, Bohol as JCI Chocolate Hills proudly spearheaded the Area 4 launch of TOFARM (The Outstanding Farmers of the Philippines) on ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐๐, ๐๐๐๐, through the Ceremonial Planting of the Seed to Bean: 1000 Cacao Growth Project in Barangay Nueva Vida Sur.
As a flagship program of JCI Philippines, ๐๐๐
๐๐๐ (The Outstanding Farmers of the Philippines) champions sustainable agriculture, empowers farming communities, and promotes excellence in Philippine agriculture through meaningful partnerships and grassroots initiatives. Coinciding with the celebration of the ๐ญ๐ณ๐ฎ๐ง๐ ๐๐จ๐ก๐จ๐ฅ ๐๐๐ฒ, the launch marked the return of TOFARM to Area 4, symbolizing a renewed commitment to cultivating resilient communities through agriculture.
Living true to its namesake, the ๐๐๐๐ข๐๐ฌ ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐ก๐จ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐๐ญ๐ ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฌ journeyed to the Municipality of Carmen to lead this meaningful initiative alongside its valued partners. The ceremonial planting was made possible through the collaboration of the ๐๐จ๐๐๐ฅ ๐๐จ๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐ง๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ ๐๐ง๐ข๐ญ ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐ฆ๐๐ง, represented by Sangguniang Bayan Committee Chair on Agriculture, Hon. Victor Adlaon; ๐๐จ๐ก๐จ๐ฅ ๐๐ก๐จ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐๐ญ๐ ๐
๐๐ซ๐ฆ, represented by Mr. Kurt Daniel Amores, whose generous support included the donation of quality cacao seedlings; and the project's beneficiaries, the ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฏ๐ ๐๐ข๐๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ซ ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ฌโ ๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐จ๐๐ข๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง, led by its President, Ms. Rowena Sandimas, together with Hon. Alvin Sandimas, Barangay Kagawad on Women, and Barangay Captain Hon. Gregorio Degamon.
The initiative was further strengthened through the support of the ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ง๐๐ฎ๐ฏ๐๐ซ ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐๐ง๐ฒ, RMFB 7, led by PCAPT Christian Darcy Fat, whose partnership helped promote community engagement while upholding peace and order throughout the activity.
