The Silent Book Club 6300 was given an opportunity to attend a public lecture hosted by the National Museum of the Philippines - Bohol last Friday afternoon.

Dr. David J. Kendall, a historical musicologist, gave an engaging discussion on the Bohol Cantorales and the Bohol School of Sacred and Liturgical Music.

Dr. Kendall is a professor of Music and the Directory of Music History and Research of La Sierra University in California, USA.

It was an interesting lecture as the participants were made to sing verses of liturgical music. Indeed, there is still a lot to be discovered about the subject matters Dr. Kendall presented in his research.

He encouraged everyone to spread awareness, help in education endeavours, give respect to and support Bohol's rich cultural heritage.

SBC 6300 members in attendance were inspired to learn more about the province's arts and cultural heritage.

Our tallest book stack yet. 📚✨

Today, the Book Nook looked a little different. We weren’t able to set up our usual spread because the space was packed but honestly, we’re not complaining. The Nook was full of life, and more importantly, full of readers.

We had a lot of first-timers today, and it was such a joy to see young readers voluntarily walk into the Book Nook, pick up a book, find a comfortable spot, and simply enjoy the space and the stories waiting for them. Some came with friends, some came on their own, and some may have only meant to stay for a while. But for an afternoon, we all shared the same little corner and the quiet magic of reading.

Thank you to everyone who spent the afternoon with us, not-so-silently reading with the festive music outside from our Sandugo Parade, and making the Book Nook feel a little more alive. 📖🤎

We hope you enjoyed own way of celebrating Sandugo. Would love to see you all again!
