DTI: UBE BECOMING PH’S NEW EXPORT STAR 💜🇵🇭
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) says ube is emerging as one of the Philippines’ newest top-performing export products, alongside calamansi.
Trade Secretary Cristina Roque said exports of ube-based products reached $3.06 million in 2025, driven by growing global demand in markets such as the United States, United Kingdom, Italy, and the Middle East.
According to the DTI, processed ube products—including powder, puree, halaya, and flavor extracts—are gaining popularity abroad and are now being used in ice cream, baked goods, and beverages.
Roque also highlighted the growing international recognition of the Filipino flavor, noting that Starbucks UK recently launched an ube drink.
The agency said it will continue supporting local farmers and MSMEs to help Philippine ube compete in the global market.
