The new set of Tzu Chi Youth Collegiate Association (TCY) officers, together with Volunteer Affairs Coordinator Sister Chieh Fang Uy, gathered for a Tzu Chi Youth meeting on August 29, 2026, to discuss the organizationโ€™s goals, accomplishments, and proposed activities for Academic Year 2026โ€“2027.

With a new set of officers taking on their respective responsibilities, the meeting served as an opportunity to look back on the organizationโ€™s accomplishments while looking ahead to the plans and initiatives that will shape another year of youth service.

The gathering opened with the introduction of the new officers, followed by a presentation on the status of the organizationโ€™s 2026 goals. Chapter heads then shared their accomplishments for August, highlighting the efforts and activities carried out within their respective chapters.

As the discussion progressed, the officers presented proposed activities for the new academic year, allowing members to exchange ideas and identify initiatives that could further encourage youth participation and volunteerism. The discussion also provided the new officers with an opportunity to align their plans and responsibilities toward the organizationโ€™s shared goals.

The meeting also featured a Masterโ€™s Talk and a message from Sister Chieh Fang Uy, offering the youth guidance and encouragement as they begin another chapter of their journey in service.

Before concluding, the youth opened the floor for suggestions and comments, giving members the opportunity to share their insights and contribute to the plans of the organization.

The gathering ended with a renewed sense of direction among the youth, as the new officers prepared to carry their responsibilities forward and turn their plans into meaningful acts of service in the months ahead.

The Tzu Chi Collegiate Youth Association โ€“ Buenavista Community College (TCCYA-BCC) conducted an introductory and interactive activity during the Organization Days on August 24, 2026, at Buenavista Community College, led by its newly appointed chapter head, Ms. Sheina Claire Aรฑabeza.

The activity introduced students to the Tzu Chi Foundation, its missions, and its presence in the Philippines and Bohol, while highlighting the role of TCCYA in promoting compassion, volunteerism, and environmental responsibility among the youth. Students were encouraged to become youth volunteers and aspiring Tzu Chi Collegiate Youth, with registered participants receiving a Tzu Chi ballpen as a simple token of appreciation.

The activity also featured Jing Si Aphorisms, where students selected, read, and learned about the meaning of different aphorisms and how these teachings can guide them toward kindness, wisdom, gratitude, and purposeful living. Adding an interactive element was the Wheel of Compassion, where students spun the wheel and received simple compassionate actions to practice. Through these activities, students were reminded that compassion can begin with small acts of kindness and concern for others and the environment.

More than an introduction to an organization, the activity served as an invitation for young people to learn, reflect, and take part in a shared mission of service. Through TCCYA-BCC, the spirit of Tzu Chi continues to reach young hearts, encouraging them to become compassionate individuals and be part of positive changeโ€”one meaningful action at a time.
