Slaughtering and eating dogs is a heartless act of cruelty that has no place in a compassionate society.

Killing them for food is not culture, it’s violence. In the Philippines, this is a crime under RA 8485 as amended by RA 10631and RA 9482 Anti Rabies Act of 2007 and those who film and post it on social media are not just breaking the law, they are normalizing abuse and cruelty

Another innocent lives lost. They suffer from neglect, they die from cruelty.

Another case of dog poisoning, this time in Barangay Basdio, Mocpoc Sur, Loon.

During the weekend, five to six dogs died of poisoning including one puppy and the mother leaving seven puppies orphaned, fending for themselves.

Two years ago we rescued 8 puppies from this area. The area where the dogs are staying is a dumping ground for unwanted litters and abandoned dogs and cats.

We hope these cases of poisoning, abandonment and cruelty will stop. In the end, what we tolerate defines us. Let us be better humans in a world that often forgets compassion. Let us be better humans in a world that so often chooses the easy over the right.

It is super duper hot!

Make sure your pets and you are hydrated. Those inside the cages and those who are leashed outside, make sure they are in a shaded area and they have access to drininking water.

Many animals suffer silently in this heat. Kindly put out clean fresh drinking water for animals passing by your place. Leave a bowl of water outside your home, refill it daily and save a life.

WARNING: Disturbing images.

These are not just photos.These are lives that ended in suffering. They did not die by accident. They were killed.

16 March - Guiwanon, Baclayon, a puppy died after ingesting poison. Another dog barely aurvived.

20 March - in Barangay Anonang, Valencia, Bohol, multiple animals were killed. Poisoned food was deliberately scattered taking the lives of dogs, three cats, and several chickens. Some of these animals were inside their own backyard. Let that sink in.

Poisoning is cruelty and is always intentional. No matter the reason there is no justification for a slow, painful death like this. In many places and barangays in Bohol, poisoning has unfortunately become “normal", passed down as a method of control.

At the same time, we want to be very clear; we do not tolerate irresponsible pet ownership. Allowing animals to roam freely, failing to secure them, or neglecting proper care contributes to community concerns.

Yesterday we were able to talk with one of the owner and the Barangay Captain of Anonang as well. We are currently gathering information on the most recent incident. There are persons of interest (Barangay Anonang Case). We urge anyone with information or witnesses to come forward. Because today it is animals. Tomorrow, what kind of community are we becoming if this is tolerated?
