In a bid to empower the Women's Association of Upper De La Paz in Cortes, Bohol, the College of Business and Management (CBM) Extension Unit, led by CBM Extension Chairperson Prof. Mark Justine Manuta, has taken a significant step towards collaboration and economic upliftment.

A crucial meeting was convened by Prof. Manuta, alongside Prof. Ruth Peligrino, the Chair of the BS Entrepreneurship Department. The focus of the meeting was to foster collaboration with BS Entrepreneurship students who are currently managing the campus canteen as part of their business implementation. The main agenda was to establish collaboration by making them distributors for the Upper De La Paz (UDLP) Longganisa product.

The UDLP Longganisa, a product of a food processing training initiative conducted in November 2022, has already found its way onto the menu of the campus canteen, catering to the students of the Bohol Island State University (BISU) main campus.

The Women's Association of Upper De La Paz has been a recipient of community-based extension services from the Bohol Island State University. This longganisa production venture is a testament to the university's commitment to providing relevant and sustainable extension services to its neighboring communities.

The primary objective of this collaborative effort is to create livelihood opportunities for the Women's Association, contributing to their economic empowerment. The initiative not only showcases the practical application of skills acquired through training but also strengthens the bond between the university and the local community.

As the UDLP Longganisa becomes a staple in the campus canteen, it is anticipated that this venture will not only provide a sustainable source of income for the Women's Association but also promote the unique local flavors of Upper De La Paz to the wider university community.

This collaborative endeavor exemplifies the university's commitment to community development and economic empowerment through practical skill application and partnership building. The Women's Association of Upper De La Paz looks forward to a fruitful collaboration that will further enhance their economic prospects and contribute to the growth of the community.
