π—Ÿπ—œπ—§π—˜π—₯𝗔π—₯𝗬 | When May Breathes Fiesta in Bohol

In May, the island learns to breathe in flame,
As bells unbind the silence of the sea.
The roads return the living to their name,
And distance folds itself to memory.

The fields are stirred by footsteps long delayed, By voices softened by the years away,
What time had scattered gently is remade,
As towns awake beneath the month of May.

We call it fiesta, yet it is more than cheer,
A reckoning of presence and return,
A homeland whispering, "You are still near,"
A fire that even time cannot unlearn.

The streets become a scripture of the crowd, Where strangers speak in laughter, not in fear. And even sorrow bows itself unbowed,
As joy becomes the language of the year.

Beneath the color, something deeper moves The weight of lives both given and received. For every feast is built on unseen grooves
Of sacrifice too quietly believed.

Still no one turns away the open gate,
For giving here is older than regret,
It is the island's patient, human fate,
To share what the heart refuses to forget.

The kitchens breathe in rising clouds of steam, Where memory simmers in inherited hands. Each meal becomes a long-forgotten dream That gently calls the past back to the land.

The churches rise like thoughts toward the sky, With candles trembling in the humid air.
As if the earth itself had learned to cry
And turned its grief into a silent prayer.

The music walks through every crowded street, A living pulse that cannot be confined.
It lifts the dust beneath unnumbered feet
And leaves a trace of light in every mind.

Even the shadows soften in the glow,
As if they, too, have learned to celebrate.
And time forgets the burden it must know,
As May dissolves the ordinary weight.

For fiesta is not merely sound and sight,
But something that the heart alone can keep.
A brief surrender to abundant light Before the island slowly falls to sleep.

And when the month withdraws into the tide, And silence settles gently on the land,
May lingers still where memory cannot hide,
An echo held within the island's hand.

NEBSO Cares: Bright Smiles, Healthy Futures

The Northeastern Bohol Students Organization successfully conducted its 2nd Outreach Activity titled β€œPaghiusa sa Pagpauswag sa Kabataan: Bright Smiles and Healthy Meal Outreach Program” on April 07, 2026, in Imelda, Ubay, Bohol. Led by NEBSO officers, the activity centered on a feeding program that provided nutritious meals to day care children while fostering care and connection within the community. 🍽️ πŸ’›

In addition, the children participated in engaging sessions on proper oral hygiene and healthy eating habits, and were given oral cleaning materials to support their daily practices. 🦷πŸͺ₯ This initiative echoes the words of JosΓ© Rizal that β€œAng Kabataan ang Pag-asa ng Bayan,” as NEBSO continues to invest in the youthβ€”nurturing their health, shaping their habits, and empowering them to become the hope of the nation. πŸ‡΅πŸ‡ ✨

Special Thanks to Ma'am Elma Abay-abay our esteemed day care teacher of lower Imelda Day Care Center for her full time support in encouraging the cute pupils to attend despite their vacation. Your active participation had paved way in making this activity successfulπŸ€—πŸ€Ž
