The International Representation of Free Gardening
Free gardening today is not merely a remembrance of an ancient tradition, but a vibrant movement that connects people, lodges, and grand lodges across national borders.
The International Confederation of Free Gardeners (ICFG) sees itself as a common platform for international cooperation. Its mission is to foster exchange between independent free gardening grand lodges, strengthen connections, and highlight shared paths.
It is important to note that the ICFG is not an entity that overrides the autonomy of individual grand lodges. Each grand lodge retains its own sovereignty, its established traditions, and its unique cultural character. This is precisely where the strength of an international connection lies: unity without homogenization, cooperation without losing one's own roots.
At the heart of the ICFG are communication, mutual support, the exchange of experiences, best practices, and ideas, as well as shared responsibility for the growth and sustainability of the free gardening movement worldwide.
The ICFG focuses on this. Historically, free gardening developed from communities that offered their members mutual help, protection, and support. From these roots, a deeper spiritual and philosophical brotherhood and sisterhood has unfolded, its symbolism firmly grounded in the image of the garden, nature, and inner work.
The core values ββremain timeless:
Love, wisdom, harmony, and truth.
These are not merely beautiful words, but guiding principles for free gardening practice: in personal life, in community, and in international exchange.
Thus, the ICFG symbolically represents what free gardening is all about at its core:
Not dividing.
Not homogenizing.
But connecting, nurturing, and allowing to grow.
