🌾 HARVEST MOON | OCTOBER 6–7 🌾

Tonight, we are about to witness one of the most alluring lunar events of the year—the Harvest Moon! 🌕

The Harvest Moon occurs when the full moon is closest to the autumnal equinox. The night sky is about to deliver an enchanting twist, as the Harvest Moon, which normally occurs in September, will instead take place in October this year! A Harvest Moon in October is rare! Between 1970 and 2050, there are only 18 years when the Harvest Moon falls in October.

According to NASA, the supermoon will take over the sky, the same night that the Draconid meteor shower is set to begin on Monday, October 6. The supermoon is a sight to see as the moon will look around 30% brighter and up to 14% larger as it usually does.

So tonight, take a moment to capture the rare, warm glow of the 2025 Harvest Moon. 🌾🌕

The two black holes were each more massive than a hundred suns☀️. Such ripples are referred to as gravitational waves by physicists.

"The black holes are probably spinning at nearly the fastest speed that is physically feasible." Our comprehension of black hole formation is seriously threatened by GW231113. 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘀𝗲-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘆💉
With its initial focus on HIV, the research team behind PROVIREX first generated an HIV-specific recombinase using 𝙙𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙩-𝙚𝙫𝙤𝙡𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙣𝙞𝙦𝙪𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙩 𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙜𝙣𝙞𝙯𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙨 𝙖 𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙨 (𝙇𝙏𝙍𝙨) 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙛𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙠 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙃𝙄𝙑 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙫𝙞𝙧𝙪𝙨 𝘿𝙉𝘼 🧬. The researchers then developed a designer recombinase that specifically recombines a very conservative and clinically highly relevant HIV LTR sequence. This recombinase called Brec1—a proprietary PROVIREX protein—specifically and efficiently cuts out the provirus of more than 90% of all known HIV strains and subtypes.
The major advantage of the Brec1 recombinase is that the cutting and mending of the DNA is accomplished independently of further helper molecules (like guide RNAs) or the host DNA-repair system. This is a 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲, 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲-𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀, 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗰𝟭 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗻𝘂𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗼𝗿𝘀.⚠️
