The Rotary Club of San Juanico successfully convened its 21st Regular Meeting on June 6, 2026, bringing together club members in a productive gathering centered on celebrating achievements, discussing upcoming service initiatives, and strengthening the bonds of fellowship among fellow Rotarians.

Among the highlights of the meeting was a reflection on the recently concluded District Conference (DISCON), where the club received multiple recognitions for its exemplary projects, leadership, and commitment to Rotary service. Members took the opportunity to celebrate these milestones and acknowledge the collective efforts that contributed to the club's continued success and growing impact within District 3860.

The meeting also featured the presentation of an upcoming project proposal from the Satellite Club of San Juanico Heartland. The proposed initiative, which is planned to take place in Buruaruen, combines outdoor fellowship, environmental stewardship, and community engagement through a hiking activity coupled with a tree-planting program. The project aims to promote environmental awareness while fostering stronger connections among participants through a shared commitment to sustainability and service. Further details and official announcements regarding the initiative are expected to be released in the coming weeks.

Additionally, members received updates concerning the club's next fellowship activity, reinforcing the importance of maintaining strong relationships and camaraderie within the organization. As Rotary continues to thrive through service and collaboration, fellowship remains an essential avenue for nurturing the friendships and shared values that unite Rotarians.

The 21st Regular Meeting served as another meaningful milestone for the Rotary Club of San Juanico, reflecting its continued dedication to recognizing achievements, supporting innovative service projects, and advancing Rotary's mission of creating lasting change in communities.

𝗥𝗖 𝗦𝗮𝗻 𝗝𝘂𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗼 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗠𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗖𝗢𝗡 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

CEBU CITY — The Rotary Club of San Juanico emerged as one of the recognized clubs during the Rotary International District 3860 Conference (DISCON) 2026 held at the NUSTAR Grand Ballroom, NUSTAR Resort Cebu, from May 29 to 30, 2026.

The club received several district recognitions, including the RAGG Excellence Award (Green Club), Club Excellence Award, Distinguished PolioPlus Fund Club Achiever recognition, Top Club Giver distinctions, and recognition for the successful chartering of the Rotary Satellite Club of San Juanico–Tacloban Heartland. Individual members were likewise honored for their continued support of The Rotary Foundation through Paul Harris Society, Major Donor, PolioPlus Fund, and Leadership Excellence recognitions.

The awards highlighted the club's accomplishments in service, membership development, foundation giving, and organizational growth throughout the Rotary year. They also underscored the collective efforts of club members, officers, and partners in advancing Rotary's mission across the communities served by the club.

The recognitions were conferred during the conference's awards and recognition ceremonies, which gathered Rotary leaders and members from across District 3860 in celebration of excellence, service, and impact.

𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝟮 | 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟯𝟬, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 — 𝗥𝗖 𝗦𝗮𝗻 𝗝𝘂𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗼 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗺 𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻 𝗨𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲

By the second day at NUSTAR Resort Cebu, our delegation was fully in the rhythm of the conference. This batch of photos moves past the initial arrival excitement and focuses on the core of why we traveled to DISCON 2026: to listen, learn, and bring fresh perspectives back to our local projects.

Between the morning's opening ceremonies and the deep-dive Plenary Sessions in the Grand Ballroom, our members spent the day engaging in meaningful discussions about community impact. A definite highlight of our DISCON experience was learning from an incredible lineup of speakers who challenged us to unite for good, including Rotary International President's Representative Ijeoma Pearl Okoro, former Senator Emmanuel "Manny" D. Pacquiao, respected author and speaker Francis J. Kong, and transformative leader Paulette D. Liu.

Whether exchanging insights over the networking lunch or standing together as a unified club during the formal Governor’s Gala and The Rotary Foundation Night, day two was a reminder of the collective strength of District 3860. As we look back on the conclusion of the conference, our delegation returned home with a renewed sense of pride and a clear vision for the future of our own community initiatives.

These photos capture the exact moments the Rotary Club of San Juanico delegation stepped into NUSTAR Resort Cebu, ready to represent our community at the District 3860 Conference. There is a distinct energy in arriving at a venue of this scale—the initial greetings with fellow Rotarians we hadn't seen in months, the quick catch-ups during registration at the Seaview Lounge, and the shared anticipation for the days ahead.

While the day included scheduled events such as the Bridge to Business opening and engagements across the conference floor, the real highlight was the camaraderie between sessions. It was about reconnecting with fellow Rotarians, exchanging ideas, strengthening friendships, and proudly showing our club's presence among leaders and changemakers from across the district.

As Day 1 transitioned into the evening, the atmosphere shifted from anticipation to celebration during the District Leadership Excellence Awards. The Rotary Club of San Juanico was honored with the RAGG Excellence Award (Green Club) and the Club Excellence Award, recognizing the club's commitment to impactful service, sustainable growth, and organizational excellence throughout the Rotary year.

The evening also marked a significant milestone as the club received recognition for the successful chartering of the Rotary Satellite Club of San Juanico–Tacloban Heartland, reflecting Rotary's growing presence and the continued expansion of service opportunities within our communities.

This documentation stands as a record not only of our team settling into the conference and setting the pace for the days ahead, but also of a first day that concluded with recognition, gratitude, and renewed inspiration—an encouraging start to the District Conference journey.

𝗔𝗠𝗣𝗘𝗗 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗜𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗻: 𝗥𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆’𝘀 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗘𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗼

From May 27–June 3, 2026, the Rotary Club of San Juanico Tacloban displayed a billboard at 116 Avenida Veteranos, Downtown Tacloban City, Leyte, right at the busy intersection of Veteranos Street and Avenida Rizal. For one week, its bold crimson glow carried the urgent message “99.9%”—reminding the public how close humanity is to ending polio.

More than advertising, it became a living story of Service Above Self, turning a global health crusade into a shared mission for Leyte. By tying in the Leyte Love Music Festival and inviting passersby to scan and act, the project transformed daily commuters into active changemakers. For one week, the city’s busiest square wasn’t just lit—it was united under Rotary’s call to finish the fight.

On May 27, 2026, the Rotary Club of San Juanico Tacloban marked the completion of the mural site at Tigbao, Sta. Fe Road, Tacloban City (across Holy Cross Memorial Gardens).

Anchored in a high-traffic stretch of the road, the Depth of Unity mural transforms a routine commute into a moment of inspiration. It embodies Rotary International’s theme Unite for Good—a vibrant portrayal of diverse service initiatives in health, education, and community development converging into one collective force.

More than art, it’s a beacon of fellowship and service, reminding every passerby of the power of unity and community transformation.
