On August 15, ๐Ÿ”๐ŸŽ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐  ๐ฉ๐ž๐จ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ž gathered at Dulag Dream Academy for ๐๐ž๐ฒ๐จ๐ง๐ ๐Ž๐ฎ๐ซ ๐ƒ๐ข๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐ž๐ซ๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž๐ฌ: ๐ˆ๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐ง๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐˜๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ก ๐ƒ๐š๐ฒ ๐…๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐š๐ฅ ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ”.

Through team challenges, games, and shared activities co-facilitated by ๐…๐ฎ๐ง๐๐‹๐ข๐Ÿ๐ž ๐˜๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ก ๐Œ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ฌ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐๐˜๐€๐ ๐…๐ž๐๐ž๐ซ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐Ž๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐ข๐œ๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ƒ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐š๐ , participants from FundLife programs and partner schools built new connections, practiced teamwork, and learned from one another.

More than a celebration, the festival created space for young people with different experiences to come together around shared goals. It was a reminder that when young people are given opportunities to participate and lead, they can build confidence, strengthen relationships, and take positive action in their schools and communities. ๐Ÿ’š

This week, ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ• ๐œ๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐๐ซ๐ž๐ง ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐  ๐ฉ๐ž๐จ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ž ๐ข๐ง ๐ƒ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐š๐  continued building practical skills for safer schools and communities. Some explored how climate change affects their surroundings and identified actions they can take, while others practiced earthquake and fire safety, including Duck, Cover, and Hold.

Through play and practical learning, children are not only learning about risks. They are becoming more confident in recognizing hazards, responding safely, and contributing to the safety of those around them.

On August 1, 2026, Fundlife facilitated disaster preparedness sessions with ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ– ๐ฉ๐š๐ซ๐ญ๐ข๐œ๐ข๐ฉ๐š๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ from ๐‘๐š๐ฐ๐ข๐ฌ ๐„๐ฅ๐ž๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐š๐ซ๐ฒ ๐’๐œ๐ก๐จ๐จ๐ฅ, ๐‚๐š๐›๐š๐œ๐ฎ๐ง๐ ๐š๐ง ๐๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐‡๐ข๐ ๐ก ๐’๐œ๐ก๐จ๐จ๐ฅ, and ๐ƒ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐š๐  ๐๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐‡๐ข๐ ๐ก ๐’๐œ๐ก๐จ๐จ๐ฅ in Dulag, Leyte. Through football-based activities and interactive discussions, participants explored the risks of typhoons and flooding, identified hazards and safe areas in their communities, created Family Disaster Preparedness Plans, and learned the importance of preparing a Go Bag.

By combining play with practical learning, the sessions strengthened participants' teamwork, communication, and decision-making while building the knowledge and confidence they need to help keep themselves, their families, and their communities safe. ๐Ÿ’š

On July 17, FundLife kicked off its 2026โ€“2027 Programme Reorientation at ๐‘๐š๐ฐ๐ข๐ฌ ๐„๐ฅ๐ž๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐š๐ซ๐ฒ ๐’๐œ๐ก๐จ๐จ๐ฅ, followed by sessions on July 24 at ๐‚๐š๐›๐š๐œ๐ฎ๐ง๐ ๐š๐ง ๐๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐‡๐ข๐ ๐ก ๐’๐œ๐ก๐จ๐จ๐ฅ and ๐ƒ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐š๐  ๐๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐‡๐ข๐ ๐ก ๐’๐œ๐ก๐จ๐จ๐ฅ.

The reorientation brought together returning and newly listed participants, parents, and teacher focal persons to explore what's ahead for this programme year. Together, they learned about upcoming activities, everyone's role in making the programme a success, and the importance of safeguarding in creating safe, inclusive, and supportive spaces where every child and young person can learn, grow, and thrive.

With ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’ ๐ฉ๐š๐ซ๐ญ๐ข๐œ๐ข๐ฉ๐š๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ joining the sessions, we're excited to begin another year filled with learning, leadership, and meaningful opportunities. ๐ŸŒฑ

Facilitated by Mr. Patrick Relles, MPRM, the workshop equipped participants with practical digital communication skills to support upcoming community programs. They created Facebook Business Pages, developed clear and engaging content, explored AI tools responsibly, and learned how chatbots can improve communication and community engagement.

Beyond building digital skills, the session reinforced the importance of ethical and responsible communication. Through discussions on responsible AI use, fact-checking, and source verification, participants were reminded that every message shared should strengthen trust, protect communities, and reflect FundLife's values.

By investing in the digital capacity of our staff, Youth Mentors, and student partners, FundLife is strengthening the teams behind our programs, ensuring they are equipped to deliver safe, inclusive, and forward-thinking initiatives while extending their impact beyond face-to-face engagement.

On July 7, FundLife brought together staff, youth mentors, and selected Tech2Thrive completers from EVSU Dulag for a Project Delivery Readiness Workshop.

Led by Director of Operations Kimberly C. Lopez, participants reviewed three upcoming initiatives, mapped delivery plans, and practiced facilitating activities focused on resilience, protection, WASH, youth pathways, and responsible use of AI.

Safeguarding remained at the heart of the workshop. Art Vincent Salem, Stakeholder Engagement and Safeguarding Officer, guided participants in identifying potential risks and practical measures to keep children, young people, and communities safe.

The day concluded with a hands-on AI workshop facilitated by Patrick Relles, where participants explored chatbots, information materials, and responsible digital content creation.
