Nakikiisa ang Hands Off Our Children Movement – Eastern Visayas Chapter sa mga partner organizations ng Bangon Bayan Movement sa isinagawang Free Packed Lunch Distribution para sa ating mga transport drivers, conductors, at dispatchers sa Tacloban City, sa Abucay Bus Terminal at Robinsons Marasbaras Terminal.

Ang proyektong ito, katuwang ang iba’t ibang ahensya ng pamahalaan, youth organizations, at civil society partners, ay inilunsad upang makatulong sa pagaan ng pasanin ng isa sa mga pinakaapektadong sektor ng Manggagawa, ang transport sector, sa gitna ng patuloy na oil crisis na nararanasan nating lahat.

Sa panahon ng hamon, mas pinipili nating magkaisa, magtulungan, at kumilos.

Padayon! Sama-sama para sa Manggagawang Pilipino!

HANDS OFF OUR CHILDREN!

The Hands Off Our Children Movement, Inc., Eastern Visayas Chapter strongly condemns the deceptive recruitment of minors into armed struggle.

Children are not soldiers.
They are not instruments of ideology.
They are not tools for war.

Recruiting, grooming, or using children in the Maoist-Communists CPP-NPA-NDF Terrorist group is a grave violation of both Philippine law and international humanitarian law:

- Republic Act No. 11188 (Special Protection of Children in Situations of Armed Conflict) explicitly prohibits the recruitment and use of children by armed groups.

- Republic Act No. 7610 protects children against abuse, exploitation, and discrimination, including involvement in armed conflict.

- UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) guarantees the protection of children from all forms of violence and exploitation.

- Optional Protocol on the Involvement of Children in Armed Conflict (OPAC) strictly prohibits the compulsory recruitment of children and their direct participation in hostilities.

- International Humanitarian Law classifies the recruitment and use of child soldiers as a serious violation that may constitute a war crime.

No cause, no matter how it is framed, justifies robbing our children of their future.

Deceptive narratives that target students and young people are not activism. They are exploitation.

We call on communities, schools, parents, and government agencies to:
👉 Stay vigilant.
👉 Protect our youth.
👉 Expose recruitment schemes.
👉 Hold violators accountable.

This is not politics. This is protection.

Our children deserve classrooms, not combat zones.
Our youth deserve hope, not indoctrination.
