These lyrics perfectly encapsulate the spirit of the BS Biology Practicum Case Presentation and Culminating Activity held at Leyte Normal University's Ballroom Hall on May 23, 2025. The day marked the culmination of a significant chapter in the Batch 2025's academic journey โ a chapter filled with rigorous study and practical experience. Yet, as the ceremony unfolded, it was clear that this was not an end, but a beginning.
A procession of 4th Year BS Biology interns marked the beginning, led by esteemed science faculty members bearing the Biology emblems of each specialization โ the Sablay for Biotechnology, Laurel for Environmental Biology, and Caduceus for Medical Biology. Dr. Las Johnsen B. Caluza, the Internship Supervisor, then delivered his inspiring opening remarks, setting the stage for the day's events.
Fourteen captivating case study presentations followed, each meticulously crafted and critically evaluated by a panel of experts: Mr. Gerald D. Demasilan (TACRU), Ms. Juris Magna A. Gempis (City-ENRO), Mr. Romelo T. Anade (City-Agriculture), Mr. Cedric John N. Maluenda, Ms. Jea M. Vesera, and Ms. Ma. Dayanarra T. Alonso. The interns' dedication and hard work shone through, showcasing their acquired knowledge and skills.
This was followed by five poignant testimonies from interns, offering heartfelt reflections on their internship journeys and the invaluable lessons learned within their respective agencies. Their words resonated deeply, highlighting the transformative power of practical experience.
Another highlight was Professor Myra A. Abayon's inspirational message, which resonated deeply, reminding everyone of life's true meaning and urging students to embrace their potential and celebrate their accomplishments. Her words served as a powerful catalyst for self-belief and future endeavors.
The culmination of the event was also a joyous awarding ceremony. Each intern received a certificate of proficiency in their specialization, a testament to their hard work and dedication. Adding to the celebration, twelve outstanding students were recognized with the prestigious Charles Darwin Award, a further testament to their exceptional achievements. The competition for best case studies was also fierce, with Bardelosa et al. securing third place, Baluran et al. taking second, and Ms. Honnah Yhobel Q. Romandi's solo presentation earning the highest recognition.
The event concluded with a touching video journey chronicled the Batch 2025's experience, which was a poignant reminder of their shared journey and a fitting conclusion to a memorable day. The event served not only as a celebration of academic achievement but also as a testament to the growth, resilience, and bright futures of these aspiring biologists.
