In support of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2026, members of the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers – San Juanico Chapter actively participated in the Safety Run and Zumba held on April 25, 2026, at Old Capitol Grounds, Tacloban City.

This meaningful activity, organized by DOLE Region VIII, highlights the importance of promoting occupational safety and health, strengthening camaraderie, and encouraging physical well-being among professionals.

Together, we continue to uphold our commitment to building a culture of safety—both in the workplace and in our daily lives.

After which, the regular monthly meeting was conducted.

We are deeply saddened to announce the untimely passing of one of our Pillar Member- Engr. Teodorico M. Urgel Jr. PME.

Engr. Urgel has been a steadfast pillar of the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers – San Juanico Chapter, a mentor to many, and a respected figure who dedicated his time, wisdom, and leadership to the growth of the Chapter and its members.

He is supposed to be conferred as one of the “top ten outstanding mechanical engineers of region 8”.

His commitment to the profession and his genuine kindness have touched the lives of countless engineers. His loss leaves a profound void in our organization and in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
May we honor his legacy through continued service, professionalism, and unity.
