1,500+ Propagules. 100+ Volunteers. 1 Sustainable Future. 🌱🌊

On March 20, 2026, JCI Tacloban Kankabatok, in proud collaboration with CLIMBS Life and General Insurance Cooperative, took a bold step for climate action. In the true spirit of JCI’s mission to provide development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change, over a hundred volunteers from various NGOs and cooperatives united to plant 1,500+ mangrove propagules.

Just as mangroves serve as nature’s resilient shield against the storm, the women in our community stand as the pillars of our progress. This activity was more than reforestation—it was a celebration of resilience and sustainable leadership. By protecting our coastlines, we are securing the legacy we leave for the next generation. 🌎💪

JCI Tacloban Kankabatok continues to strengthen its local foundations! Our 2026 Local Organization President, Russelle Dondonilla-Bucayan, participated in the Regional Council Meeting held in the scenic municipality of Burauen, Leyte, on February 28, 2026.

Gathering in the "Spring Capital of Leyte," this meeting was a vital opportunity to align our chapter’s goals with the regional roadmap. It was a day filled with:

📍 Regional Alignment: Syncing our local projects with the wider JCI Eastern Visayas initiatives.
🤝 Brotherhood & Sisterhood: Reaffirming our bonds with neighboring chapters.
📈 Action-Oriented Planning: Ensuring our programs for 2026 are impactful and sustainable.

By showing up and speaking up in these councils, President Russelle ensures that the voice of Kankabatok remains at the forefront of positive change in our region.
