🌊 INTERNATIONAL COASTAL CLEANUP 2026
The Eagle Scouts Organization of the Philippines – Leyte Islands Chapter (ESOP-LIC) spearheaded the International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) 2026 at the Headquarters Kuta Kankabato Area, DZR New Airport, Tacloban City, on September 19, 2026, in coordination with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Regional Office VIII (DENR RO VIII).
Carrying the theme “Clean Seas for Resilient Communities – Sa Karagatang Masigla, Kaya Natin!”, the activity brought together ESOP members, Senior Scouts, and partner organizations in a collective effort to remove and document marine debris while raising awareness of the importance of protecting coastal ecosystems.
Under the leadership of ES Orven Lester G. Navarro, ESOP-ENR Ambassador and Coordinator of the ICC 2026 Activity, ESOP-LIC mobilized volunteers and partner organizations, including the Senior Scouts of V&G National High School and Leyte National High School, Tacloban City Council, Philippine Association of Rover Circles, and AKMA-RESBAK.
More than a cleanup activity, the ICC served as a reminder that protecting the seas begins with collective action. Through this shared effort, ESOP-LIC and its partners helped reduce marine litter, safeguard coastal ecosystems, and contribute to more resilient communities.
ESOP-LIC extends its sincere appreciation to all the volunteers and partner organizations who shared their time, effort, and commitment to this meaningful endeavor. Together with DENR RO VIII, ESOP-LIC continues to serve communities, protect the environment, and uphold the spirit of the Home of the True Blooded Eagle Scouts.
