Day 2 - "Where the wi-fi is weak, my spirit peaks."
Greetings, campers!🏕️ Into the camp we go. Another day, another adventure on the way as we unlock the second day of Tabuk City's 2024 Summer Camp! Woo-hoo, how exciting it is!
The day started with a lively morning exercise themed 'Itsy Bitsy,' energizing the campers' physical bodies. Mr. Su 'John' Chao (Assistant Director of IYF Kalinga) then conducted a mind education session, demonstrating the importance of connection, nurturing each individual's spiritual growth. After the tasty breakfast, everyone joyfully gathered once again for the time of the word of God lecture delivered by Mr. Bernard Paquera - Regional Director of IYF Region 2 which gave the participants enlightenment towards the power of faith, followed by academy classes which were full of giggling and amusement as they learned a lot of new things.
After this inspiring session, the campers dove into the Water Olympics, a series of fun and competitive water games. Each group of campers showed incredible determination, facing every game and challenge while connecting with each other ,showcasing their teamwork and unity. They splashed, cheered, and competed in challenges, creating memories and friendships with every splash and laugh.
Following the Water Olympics, the group enjoyed a relaxing afternoon at the river. They walked into the cool, refreshing water and admired the beautiful surroundings. Some campers took a moment to sit by the river's edge, enjoying the peaceful sounds of nature and reflecting on the day's experiences.
As the sun began to set, everyone gathered to hear Mr. Eliseo Dulliyao (IYF Kalinga Director) lead a session emphasizing the forgiveness of our sins as Jesus was sacrificed on the cross.
Afterwards, the night was lit up with the warmth of the bonfire and all the participants stayed cozy in the glow of the amber light.
Being away from the busy streets, buzzing cars, noise of the city and influence of social media, the bond between the participants had gotten strong and better. It really proved what the saying goes, "There is no wi-fi connection in the forest but you will find a better connection."
Now, as day two of our 2024 summer camp comes to a close, we reflect gratefully on another blessed day guided by the Lord. 😊
