The Rotary Club of Tabuk recently held an informal yet heartfelt turnover ceremony, symbolizing a new chapter in the club’s leadership. Following a successful term, one of the district’s well-recognized club presidents, Jage B. Caddumlay, officially handed over the symbolic bell and gavel to Maria Linda Gabit.
Dr. Gabit is not new to the role, having previously served as club president during the Rotary Year 2016 to 2017. Her earlier term, however, was cut short when she was obligated to focus on her bar examination, leaving unfinished business and aspirations for the club. Now, following a sudden vacancy in the presidency, she was nominated by her sponsor Past President Francis Calsiyao to lead the club once again.
Motivated by a sense of duty and feeling obligated to fulfill the role she had to leave behind, she accepted the challenge to take on the presidency for a second time. Her return was warmly received by fellow Rotarians, many of whom remember her dedication and leadership during her previous term.
The turnover ceremony was attended by both visiting and returning members of the Tabuk community, as well as members of the Rotary Club. The gathering was a testament to the unity and enduring commitment of the club to service and leadership.
With Dr. Mayeen at the helm, the club is now busy preparing for two significant upcoming events: the governor’s visit and the induction of officers of the Rotary Club of Tabuk, along with the officers of the Rotaract and Interact clubs, scheduled for August 5, 2025.
The Rotary Club of Tabuk looks forward to another year of impactful service, guided by the Unity for Good President Gabit’s renewed leadership and enduring sense of obligation to the club and its mission.
