Rotaract Club of Kalinga Nakilahok sa RYLA 2026.

PROJECT LUMAWAG HOLDS GIFT-GIVING, HYGIENE DRIVE, AND CLOWN SHOW IN BRGY. AMLAO

Project Lumawag carried out a community outreach program in Barangay Amlao, Mabato, Tabuk City, delivering a series of activities that included gift-giving for children, a clown performance, and the distribution of hygiene kits with demonstrations on proper hygiene practices.

The event was organized in partnership with GNF, represented by Mrs. Jamaila Baac, whose support helped ensure the smooth implementation of the program. The initiative aimed to promote children’s welfare, encourage healthy habits, and strengthen community engagement.

During the activity, children received gift packs prepared especially for them. The project also distributed hygiene kits containing soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and other basic items. Volunteers conducted short demonstrations on proper handwashing and correct toothbrushing, emphasizing the importance of daily hygiene in preventing illness.

A clown show served as the entertainment highlight of the program, featuring interactive games, balloon twisting, and comedic skits that kept the children engaged throughout the event.
Project Lumáwag, inspired by the word lúmawag which means “to prosper” or “to be blessed,”. Organizers said Project Lumáwag seeks to create meaningful and positive experiences for the community by combining fun activities with educational components. They added that the program is part of ongoing efforts to support families and promote well-being in Barangay Amlao.

Residents expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that the event brought joy to the children while also teaching valuable lessons in hygiene and self-care.
Project Lumáwag plans to continue implementing similar activities as part of its long-term commitment to community development in Tabuk City.

𝑷𝙧𝒐𝙟𝒆𝙘𝒕 | 𝑵𝙖𝒎𝙣𝒂𝙢𝒂 Spearheads Coordinated Disaster Relief in Typhoon-Struck New Tanglag, Tabuk City

A robust response to the devastation wrought by Super Typhoon Uwan, the Rotaract Club of Kalinga, in collaboration with several non-governmental organizations, has initiated "Project Namnama," a comprehensive donation drive aimed at providing critical humanitarian aid to the affected residents of New Tanglag, Tabuk City.

Super Typhoon Uwan made landfall earlier this month, causing extensive damage across the Kalinga province. The resulting widespread flooding, severe landslides, and destruction of vital agricultural lands prompted local authorities to declare a state of calamity. Tabuk City was particularly impacted, with numerous communities, including New Tanglag, experiencing significant displacement and loss of property.

The Rotaract Club mobilized quickly following the disaster. "Project Namnama," a title derived from the Ilocano word for "hope," focuses on delivering essential relief items, including emergency food packs, potable water, hygiene kits, and clothing, to mitigate the immediate suffering of victims.

"The collective resilience of our community in the face of this natural catastrophe has been remarkable," stated a representative from the Rotaract Club, emphasizing the importance of integrated efforts between civic organizations and government bodies. "This project underscores our commitment to supporting our fellow Kalingan people through immediate assistance and long-term recovery efforts."
