KSU Library and Central Student Government Donates Library Books to Taloctoc School

The Central Student Government of Kalinga State University in partnership with Kalinga State University Library and The Organon conducted a book donation drive on March 05, 2026 at Taloctoc General Comprehensive National High School, providing students with additional learning resources to support their studies.

The books donated during the activity came from the library of Kalinga State University. These materials include various academic and reading resources that students can use for research, learning, and developing their reading habits.

The donation activity was conducted during the same visit where student journalists from The Organon also shared their knowledge about campus journalism with the students.

Through this initiative, the student leaders of Kalinga State University aimed to help strengthen literacy and provide students with more access to educational materials. The donated books are expected to assist learners in their academic journey and encourage them to read, explore ideas, and broaden their knowledge.

The activity reflects the commitment of the universityโ€™s student government to extend support to schools and communities through educational outreach and meaningful service. ๐Ÿ“š

The CSG extends their sincerest gratitude to Mr. Regie Wacas for accompanying and providing transportation for the group.

Campus Journalism Lecture Inspires Students at Taloctoc General Comprehensive National High School

Students from Taloctoc General Comprehensive National High School were given the opportunity to learn more about campus journalism through a lecture conducted by student journalists from The Organon on March 05, 2026.

Jaymar A. Celestial, Associate Editor of The Organon, discussed Editorial Writing, sharing insights on how editorials reflect the stand and voice of a publication. The lecture highlighted the importance of presenting well-supported opinions, analyzing current issues, and writing with clarity, responsibility, and strong arguments.

Meanwhile, Phoebe Cates Tenay, Senior Writer of The Organon, delivered a lecture on Feature and News Writing. The discussion emphasized the differences between the two forms of writingโ€”news writing focuses on timely and factual reporting, while feature writing allows writers to tell stories in a more creative and descriptive way while still maintaining accuracy.

The lecture aimed to help students develop their writing skills and deepen their understanding of journalism. Through the shared experiences and knowledge of the speakers, participants gained valuable insights into responsible reporting, storytelling, and the role of journalism in informing and shaping communities.

The activity served as a meaningful learning experience for aspiring campus journalists, encouraging them to write truthfully, think critically, and continue developing their voices in the field of journalism.

Today, February 18, 2026, our hearts are heavy as we say goodbye to one of the most beloved member of the Kalinga State University - Dagupan Campus community.

You were never โ€œjustโ€ a campus dog. You were a quiet friend to everyone โ€” waiting outside classrooms, resting in familiar corners, and gently watching students pass by. In the middle of exams, deadlines, and busy days, you were there โ€” calm, warm, and comforting.

So many of us smiled because of you. Some found peace just sitting near you. You didnโ€™t speak, yet you made people feel understood. You didnโ€™t ask for much, yet you gave so much love.

It will feel different walking around campus without seeing you in your favorite spot, looking at us with those soft, gentle eyes.

Run free now, dear friend. ๐Ÿค

Thank you for the comfort, the quiet companionship, and the love you gave so freely.

You will always be part of KSU.
