๐๐ข๐ข๐ | The National Service Reserve Corps (NSRC) AGAP BU Tabaco in cooperation with the Department of Health (DOH) conducted a Basic Life Support (BLS) training for selected student leaders, faculty members, and staff on April 8 at Dean Geronimo Lavilla Hall.
Nursing Department faculty members, including Jamilah May B. Barcellano, Luzvimunda O. Dometita, Joan E. Evasco, Ruby D. Espares, and Mae-Joanne M. Bongat, led the discussion on various topics related to BLS.
The morning session covered the principles of emergency care, an introduction to BLS, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), the proper use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), and the management of foreign body airway obstruction.
Meanwhile, the afternoon session focused on the skills evaluation in BLS conducted by assigned facilitators, followed by a post-test, certificate distribution, and the closing program.
Through active engagement, participants developed essential knowledge and hands-on competencies in BLS, strengthening preparedness and empowering individuals to take action in saving lives within the community.
