Under the theme "𝘽𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙃𝙤𝙥𝙚, 𝘽𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙜𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙇𝙞𝙛𝙚," we are coming together to ensure that no patient has to wait for the gift of life. 𝐀𝐌 𝐈 𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐈𝐁𝐋𝐄?
Before you head over, please ensure you meet these essential requirements from the Philippine Red Cross:
• 𝙂𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝: You must be in good physical condition.
• 𝘼𝙜𝙚: If you are 16-17 years old, please bring a signed parental consent form and a photocopy of your parent's ID with their signature.
• 𝙒𝙚𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩: You must weigh at least 110 lbs (50 kg).
• 𝙒𝙖𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙤𝙙: If you’ve recently had a tattoo, ear piercing, or surgery, please ensure at least one (1) full year has passed before donating.
𝐏𝐑𝐄-𝐃𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐄:
To ensure a smooth donation process, keep these tips in mind:
• 𝐒𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐩: Get at least 5 to 8 hours of continuous sleep.
• 𝐍𝐨 𝐀𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐡𝐨𝐥: Do not consume alcohol for at least 24 hours before the event.
• 𝐃𝐢𝐞𝐭: Avoid fatty foods and do not fast. Have a healthy, iron-rich meal and drink plenty of water.
• 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞: Your BP should be controlled and not exceed 140/90.
𝐏𝐎𝐒𝐓-𝐃𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐄:
After your donation, remember to:
• Drink plenty of water.
• Rest for 15-30 minutes before leaving the venue.
• Avoid heavy lifting or strenuous activities for the next 24 hours.
Don’t just let that 𝐇𝐨𝐩𝐞 stay in your veins—let it flow to someone who needs it most. Let’s show everyone that the 𝐁𝐔 𝐓𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐨 community doesn’t just study excellence; we bleed compassion!
