St. John Development Cooperative of Tabaco was first conceived by the late Rev. Fr. Francisco Rempis after attending a Seminar/Workshop on Credit Union in July 1961 at Knights of Columbus Hall in Manila. The idea was to form a cooperative credit union of which the objectives were to encourage thrift and help small market vendors and with the help of 28 parishioners, St. John the Baptist Cooperative Credit Union, Inc. Tabaco was established on November 9, 1961.
Today, St. John Development Cooperative offers a plethora of services. It engages in short-term loans for small businesses and professionals. We offer regular loan, salary, group loan & pension loan. As of this moment, our services are available for the constituents of the First District of Albay.
