The National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA) leads the nation in celebrating Women with Disabilities Day, observed every last Monday of March under Proclamation No. 744.

Aligned with the National Women's Month Celebration (NWMC), this year marks the 21st Women with Disabilities Celebration with the theme: "Kababaihang Maykapansanan: Katuwang sa Pag-angat sa Bagong Pilipinas!"—highlighting the vital role of women with disabilities in shaping an inclusive and progressive society.

(Legazpi City, February 21, 2025) The Albay Provincial Persons with Disability Affairs Office (APPDAO) is working to create a disability-sensitive environment in Albay.

According to Annecita A. Abion, the head of APPDAO, the office plans to educate all sectors on how to interact more sensitively with persons with disabilities (PWDs).

This initiative includes raising awareness about the different types of disabilities and the rights of PWDs, with the goal of preventing stereotypes and stigma in workplaces and public spaces.

The office is currently finalizing a comprehensive strategy to implement these plans and provide safer spaces for PWDs.

This effort is part of the office's ongoing mission to raise awareness about disability-related issues and promote an inclusive environment for all.
