🩸 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗗𝗿𝗼𝗽 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗮𝘆

Service Above Self comes to life when people come together for a purpose greater than themselves.

On August 23, 2026, the Rotary Club of Central Surigao, as one of the leading participating clubs of the Area 3G Bloodletting Activity 2026, proudly joined fellow Rotary clubs and partners in service in bringing together a community united by compassion and the shared mission of saving lives.

Led by Club President Jose Sering, Jr. with the guidance and support of the club's leaders and members, the Rotary Club of Central Surigao actively took part in the successful conduct of the activity, alongside Rotaractors, Interactors, students, community volunteers, and the dedicated personnel of Caraga Regional Hospital.

The activity welcomed 65 recruited donors, with 54 successfully donating blood. While some were unable to proceed due to medical considerations, every individual who came forward demonstrated an inspiring willingness to help and serve others.

For the Rotary Club of Central Surigao, this initiative reflects what Rotary is truly about: people of action coming together to respond to the needs of the community.

Behind every successful activity are hands willing to serve, hearts ready to help, and individuals who understand that meaningful change begins when we choose to act.

From assisting donors and supporting the activity's different stations to working alongside our medical partners and fellow volunteers, the collective effort of everyone involved helped turn a simple act of generosity into a potential gift of life.

🩸 One donation can save lives. One act of service can inspire others. Together, we create a lasting impact.

To our fellow Rotarians of the Rotary Club of Central Surigao, our partners in service, the dedicated personnel of Caraga Regional Hospital, and most especially the generous blood donors, thank you for making this life-saving initiative possible.

BANGON SURIGAO

A Community Response for Nueva

When one community is hurting, Surigao stands together.

A devastating fire has affected approximately 100 households in Nueva, Surigao City, leaving families displaced and in urgent need of basic necessities.

For many, the fire took away more than a home. It took belongings, livelihood, personal memories, and the comfort of having a place to return to.

As affected families temporarily seek shelter at the Nueva Gymnasium, the need for immediate assistance continues.

And this is where Bayanihan begins.

WE ARE RESPONDING.

The Rotary Club of Central Surigao, together with the Rotaract Club of Central Surigao, JJC Surigao Ironwood, and Sugakod Surigao, is launching BANGON SURIGAO, a collaborative emergency response and relief initiative dedicated to supporting Surigaonon communities affected by calamities and emergencies.

Our first response is for the families of Nueva.

The Rotary Club of Central Surigao brought its commitment to community service closer to the people of Libjo, Dinagat Islands through a Medical Mission held on August 1, 2026, at the Lamberto A. Llamera Sr. Memorial Sports Center.

The initiative was conducted in partnership with the Caraga Regional Hospital, under the leadership of Dr. Cheryl Gotinga, and the Local Government Unit of Libjo, under the leadership of Mayor Melody Llamera Compasivo, with the assistance of the Rotaract Club of Central Surigao.

The medical mission provided community members with access to essential healthcare services, including:

Beyond the medical services, the Rotary Club of Central Surigao also provided free ice cream and arroz caldo to the beneficiaries, adding a simple touch of warmth and joy to the day. 🍦🥣

Present during the medical mission were Past President Ramon Gotinga, Rtn. Clark Barba, and Rtn. Fernando S. Aliguay, who joined the healthcare professionals, volunteers, and local partners in serving the Libjo community.

This initiative reflects the power of collaboration in making healthcare more accessible and bringing meaningful service directly to communities. Through the dedication of our partners and volunteers, we continue to put Service Above Self into action and work toward our commitment to Create Lasting Impact.
