𝐒𝐘𝐆 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐮𝐦𝐙𝐅𝐃’𝐬 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 & 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐥

Surigao Youth Convergence is participating in the Peace & Arts Project organized by forumZFD Philippines in Samal from May 11 to 14, 2026.

Representing the organization are Joshua A. Orag, Director for Finance and Administration; Neilwin E. Ligaya, Fellow and Project Manager of Project SUPER; and Pre-Fellows Mighty Evelyn Mapa and Charles Jr. Weling.

The Peace & Arts Project is a two-part workshop series that gathers young peacebuilders from across the country to strengthen their understanding of peacebuilding and conflict transformation while exploring art as a medium for self-expression and social change. Participants engage in reflection, intergenerational dialogue, and hands-on creative sessions that will culminate in artworks to be showcased in public exhibitions.

Through its participation, SYG reaffirms its commitment to empowering young people to use creativity, dialogue, and community engagement in promoting peace and inclusion in their communities.

We are proud to share that John Andrie Penados, a fellow of Surigao Youth Convergence and SK Chairperson of Brgy. Lipata, Surigao City, has been invited to speak at the Children and Youth Roundtable of the World Urban Forum 13 in Baku, Azerbaijan.

As one of the world’s leading platforms on sustainable urban development, WUF13 brings together global leaders, practitioners, and changemakers to address pressing urban challenges—particularly housing, inclusion, and resilience.

As a young public servant at the grassroots level, John Andrie brings with him the lived realities, insights, and aspirations of communities on the ground—ensuring that youth voices are not only heard, but meaningfully represented in global spaces.

He will join the conversation on May 21, 2026, contributing youth perspectives to discussions shaping the future of our cities and communities.

From local leadership to global dialogue, this milestone reflects the growing role of young leaders in building sustainable, inclusive, and resilient communities.

LOOK | The Surigao Youth Convergence marks its first-ever acceptance of senior high school Work Immersion students from Northeastern Mindanao Colleges, successfully completing their on-the-job training with the organization.

Ayha Magsino, Bea Mhay Patoc, Ghirly Conciles, and Jellyn Albano were awarded Certificates of Completion in a simple recognition ceremony, marking the culmination of their immersion journey with SYG.

Throughout their time with the organization, the interns demonstrated dedication, responsibility, and a genuine willingness to learn—qualities that reflect the value of hands-on experience beyond the classroom.

The Surigao Youth Convergence extends its congratulations and wishes them continued growth and success in their future endeavors.

𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐍 𝐑𝐄𝐅𝐋𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 🌿

Last April 25, 2026, the 7-Day Earth Week Challenge 2026 officially concluded through its final activity, “Green Reflection & Culmination,” marking the end of a week filled with action, creativity, and environmental advocacy.

Participants gathered to share their experiences, insights, and personal commitments as they reflected on their journey throughout the challenge. The session served as a space to recognize the efforts of every challenger and to reinforce the importance of continuing sustainable practices beyond the program.

The activity was graced by Hon. John Andrie Peñados, SK Chairperson of Brgy. Lipata, who delivered an inspiring message encouraging the youth to remain active stewards of the environment and to lead initiatives within their respective communities.

Certificates and recognitions were also awarded to participants who demonstrated consistency, creativity, and strong advocacy throughout the challenge.

As the challenge comes to a close, the mission continues. May this experience serve as a reminder that small actions, when done together, can create lasting impact for our environment.

GoodGovPH remains steadfast in its mission to champion good governance through the collective power of the Filipino youth. 🙌 Now on its 3rd edition, we are officially opening applications for the GoodGovPH Youth Board and Fellowship Program for the 2026–2027 term. 📣

The Youth Fellowship Program is a youth leadership and capacity-building program designed to empower young advocates and shape them into champions of good governance.

The GoodGovPH Youth Board will be composed of 30 youth leaders aged 18–24 who will lead and implement projects for youth engagement in good governance. These initiatives will be anchored on GoodGovPH’s four-pillar approach: community building, civic engagement, education, and policy advocacy 🏛️.

To support this youth leadership experience, the members will automatically be a part of the GoodGovPH Youth Fellowship, a capacity-building program that aims to expand their knowledge on good governance, hone their skills, and nurture values-based leadership. 🌱

Are you:

As part of the 7-Day Earth Week Challenge 2026, the Day 6 activity “MulTREEPLY: Mangrove Planting” was successfully conducted at Sitio Panubigon, Brgy. Lipata on April 24, 2026.

This initiative gathered youth participants and partners in a collective effort to plant mangroves and strengthen coastal protection. Each seedling planted represents a shared commitment to environmental sustainability and climate resilience.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Surigao City ENRO, Barangay Lipata, Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Lipata, JCI Surigao North, JCI Surigao Wensie, and JCI Surigao Nickel for their invaluable support and active participation in this environmental endeavor.

Together, we continue to take meaningful steps toward a greener and more sustainable future for our communities and Mother Earth. 💚
