🏘️ PROJECT LIG-ON: Building Communities Together

The United Architects of the Philippines – Surigao Chapter is proud to take part in Project Lig-ON: People-Driven Settlement Planning and Housing Development Workshop, held on August 25–26, 2026.

Through meaningful collaboration among UN-Habitat, the City Planning and Development Office (CPDO), the City Government of Surigao, and the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP), the workshop brought together professionals, stakeholders, and community members to help shape safer, more adaptive, inclusive, and sustainable communities.

The hands-on planning activities highlighted the importance of listening to the people we design for turning community needs, experiences, and aspirations into practical ideas for better housing and settlement development.

As architects, we believe that meaningful communities are not simply designed for people they are created with people. 🤝🏽🏡

Thank you to all our partner organizations, facilitators, participants, and stakeholders for making this collaborative initiative possible.

Together, we plan. Together, we design. Together, we build resilient communities.

Building Momentum: A New Chapter for UAP Surigao! 🏗️✨

We are thrilled to share the highlights of our recent Turnover Ceremony and 1st General Membership Meeting, held last Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the Maradjaw Events Center.

The evening marked a significant transition in leadership for the UAP Surigao Chapter. We were honored to have District Director D3, Ar. Edsel Castro, officiate the ceremony and also our Guest Speaker.

A heartfelt turnover was conducted by Ar. Rustico Lisondra, who represented our Immediate Past President, Ar. Kent Penaloza. We extend our deepest gratitude to Ar. Penaloza for his dedicated service and to Ar. Lisondra for graciously stepping in during this important moment.

We officially welcome our new Chapter President for FY 2026-2027, Ar. Ryan Jackson Miranday! 🏆

President Jacks, we are excited for the fresh energy, vision, and "Movers of Progress" you bring to our chapter. Under your leadership, we look forward to achieving new milestones and strengthening the architecture community in Surigao.

To all our members and partners who attended—especially our partner for the evening, Davies Paints—thank you for your continued support. Let's build this future together!
