Batang Surigaonon Youth successfully celebrated its 4th Anniversary at Washington Gymnasium, Brgy. Washington, Surigao City — marking another meaningful milestone in empowering young leaders and strengthening our commitment to service, unity, and community development. ✨

For four remarkable years, BSY has served as a home for passionate and driven youth who have continued to make a difference in their barangays and in the City of Surigao.

We extended our heartfelt and sincere gratitude to Hon. Paul Dumlao for his unwavering and all-out support to the Batang Surigaonon Youth. His dedication to uplifting the youth inspired us to continue becoming active partners in building a better and brighter Surigao.

Indeed, the celebration was not only a reflection of our journey but also a renewed commitment to serve, lead, and empower.

‎Yesterday, February 15, 2026, we gathered at the Brgy. Washington Gymnasium to celebrate a massive milestone: the Batang Surigaonon Youth 4th Anniversary!
‎
‎Under the powerful theme "Conquer. Rise. Repeat. Empowering the Youth, and Uplifting Communities through Resilient Action," we looked back at how far we’ve come and ignited the spark for what’s next.

‎From overcoming challenges to building stronger communities, the Batang Surigaonon spirit has proven that when the youth take action, the entire community rises.
‎
‎Thank you Mayor Paul Dumlao, to the Local Youth Development Office, to JCI Surigao Nickel, and to everyone who joined us, supported our mission, and helped make this 4th anniversary unforgettable. We aren't just celebrating the past; we are fueling the future.

𝗕𝗔𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗚 𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗔𝗢𝗡𝗢𝗡 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗛 𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗞𝗦 𝟰𝗧𝗛 𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗔𝗥𝗬, 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗚𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗡𝗦 𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗬 𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗢𝗖𝗔𝗖𝗬
The Batang Surigaonon Youth (BSY), in partnership with the Local Youth Development Office, marked its fourth anniversary through the Youthniversity Pabasa: Building Reading Leaders held last February 16, 2026, at Brgy. Washington Gym.
Anchored on the theme “Conquer, Rise, Repeat: Celebrating Our Journey, Empowering Youth and Uplifting Communities through Resilient Action,” the activity gathered young volunteers and partners in a shared effort to promote reading and leadership among children and youth.
City Councilor Dr. Faith Elumba, SK Federation President Jenelyn Edulzura, Local Youth Development Officer Atty. Krystel Grace C. Buniel, and 2026 Local Organization President of JCI Surigao Nickel Jair E. Balberan, joined the celebration and expressed support for youth-led programs that strengthen literacy in the community.
One of the highlights of the event was the presentation of the proposed BSY Pagbasa Caravan Orientation, a volunteer-based initiative designed to expand reading programs and develop young reading leaders in different barangays.
Through this activity, BSY continues to support the City Government’s efforts to invest in education, volunteerism, and leadership development—building a generation of empowered and service-oriented Batang Surigaonons.

Project HANDOG: Helping and Nurturing Dreams of Orphaned Generations✨

On February 08, 2026, Batang Surigaonon Youth - Highway District successfully conducted Project HANDOG at the Home for Street Children, Brgy. Anomar, Surigao City. The activity aimed to promote holistic well-being and provide meaningful engagement for the children through a Pabasa Session, Mental Health Talk, Feeding Program, and Parlor Games.

This initiative reflects BSY’s continued commitment to nurturing the emotional, spiritual, and social development of orphaned and vulnerable children. Through collective efforts and shared compassion, Project HANDOG served as a platform for hope, encouragement, and positive impact within the community.

Batang Surigaonon Youth remains steadfast in its mission to support and empower the youth by fostering inclusive and purpose-driven community engagements.
