Tribu Turismo proudly celebrates two of our officers, Ehzier Jade Lacia, Tribu Turismo Mayor, and Brick’z Ivan Montenegro, 1st Year Representative, for another remarkable run in the debate circuit! ☝🏻

After becoming Champions of the SNSU ASEAN Inter-Collegiate Debate Competition 2026 last August, the two once again stepped into the debating floor for the 9th Surigao Intervarsity Parliamentary Debate Championship (SIPDC) 2026, held on September 26–27, competing alongside debaters from colleges and universities across Surigao del Norte and Surigao del Sur.

We kicked things off with creativity during a 𝗗𝘆𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗩𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝘆 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗜 with Mr. Elpidio E. Cambaya Jr., followed by our 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝘆 at the second day to set the stage for an exciting year ahead. Diving into this year’s theme, '𝘿𝙞𝙜𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝘼𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙖 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘼𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙍𝙚𝙙𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙜𝙣 𝙏𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙢,' Dr. Jeetesh Kumar dropped major insights on using AI for sustainable and regenerative tourism. Engr. Levi A. Corvera gave us a fresh take on tech literacy for tourism, while 3rd-year student Mr. Ariel II Gabisan led a hands-on workshop on 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲𝟰𝟰 to get our app-making skills flowing. To top it all off, Ms. Hermione G. Abadia walked us through the glamorous world of aviation with an 𝗜𝗻-𝗳𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 and a total glow-up session during her 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽.

MEET OUR STUDENT WORKSHOP FACILITATOR!

With a strong background in leadership, international representation, and student governance, we are proud to introduce Mr. Ariel Il. B. Gabisan, a 3rd Year BSTM student and Executive Board – Secretariat of the International Model United Nations (IMUN).

His experience includes serving as an IMUN Delegate to Hanoi, Vietnam, representing Bahrain in UN Women, as well as being part of the IMUN Executive Board for Operations in Manila, Philippines, representing UNESCO.

Bringing his experience in international relations, leadership, cross-cultural communication, and organizational management, Mr. Gabisan is ready to share valuable insights and experiences with our future tourism professionals.
