INHS Community Takes Part in National CPR Day Awareness Campaign

July 17, 2026 — Ipil National High School (INHS) stood at the forefront of life-saving education today, as 66 learners, members of the INHS Red Cross Youth, dedicated faculty members, and school principal Rudelyn R. Clemeña, PhD actively joined the observance of National Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Day.

Held at the school mini gym starting at 8:30 AM, the activity was part of the nationwide CPR awareness campaign in partnership with the Philippine Heart Association, Caraga Regional Hospital, and other medical institutions. The event aimed to equip every participant with basic knowledge and practical skills in performing CPR—an essential emergency response that can double or triple a person’s chance of survival during cardiac arrest.

Led by Principal Clemeña, the whole INHS community embraced the challenge with enthusiasm and commitment. From understanding the proper steps of chest compressions and rescue breaths to practicing on training mannequins, everyone engaged in hands-on learning guided by medical experts. For the learners and Red Cross Youth members, the session was more than just an activity—it was an opportunity to become capable first responders in their homes, schools, and communities.

“Empowering our youth and stakeholders with life-saving skills is one of the most meaningful ways we fulfill our mission of holistic education,” shared Principal Clemeña. “We hope that what we learned today will not be forgotten, and that every one of us will have the courage and ability to act when someone’s life depends on it.”

Through this participation, INHS reaffirms its dedication to fostering a safe, prepared, and health-conscious learning environment. INHS-SRCYC Joins Forces for Tree Planting: A Step Toward Disaster Resilience

Celebrating National Disaster Resilience Month with Community Partners

IPIL PEAK, Surigao City, SDN— July 11, 2026 — As the nation observes National Disaster Resilience Month, the Ipil National High School-Senior Red Cross Youth Council (INHS-SRCYC) brought students and stakeholders together for a meaningful tree planting activity themed “Naghahanda at kumikilos tungo sa panatag na Bagong Pilipinas” (Preparing and acting toward a secure new Philippines). Held in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross – Surigao del Norte (SDN) Chapter, Ipil Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU), Red Cross Youth (RCY) of Caraga Regional Science High School, and Surigao del Norte National High School, the initiative aimed to strengthen environmental protection as a foundation for disaster readiness.

The day began early for INHS-SRCYC volunteers, who gathered at the school campus as early as 5:30 AM. Led by their RCY Adviser Mr. FJ Perez, the group set off on a hike to Ipil Peak at 6:00 AM, ready to get to work. By the end of the activity, the team had successfully planted a total of 200 saplings across the area — vegetation that will help prevent soil erosion, regulate water flow, and reduce risks of landslides and floods during extreme weather events.

The activity received strong support from school and community leaders. INHS School Principal Dr. Rudelyn R. Clemeña joined the learners on site, leading by example as they worked alongside fellow educators Ms. Christine Jane Reyes and Ms. Marejoy M. Elape. The Ipil BLGU was represented by Punong Barangay Kapitan Ferdinand M. Besario, who welcomed the group and emphasized the importance of collective action in safeguarding their community.

Also present was Sir Jaypee Dwight Lim, Chapter Service Representative for Health of the Philippine Red Cross – SDN Chapter, who was with the volunteers during the activity, noting that the effort aligned perfectly with ongoing Red Cross Youth training on disaster preparedness and environmental stewardship.

Following the hike and planting work, volunteers were treated to a hearty boodle breakfast prepared by Sir Asher Gabrielle F. Ecol back at the school campus, sponsored by 9545 Foundation (FJ Perez' relatives). Additional meals and refreshments were generously provided by the Surigao City Marajaw Lions Club, whose team joined the activity under the leadership of Club President Ma. Wilrose Polican. The INHS-SRCYC and INHS community extend their deepest gratitude to Surigao City Marjaw Lions Club for their generous support and active participation.

For the student volunteers, the activity was more than just a celebration — it was a commitment. “Planting trees today means giving future generations a safer place to live,” shared one INHS-SRCYC officer. “As the theme says, we are preparing and acting now so we can build a more secure, resilient Philippines together.”

INHS SRCYC Supports Medical Team at Invitational Amateur Boxing Tournament

Ipil National High School | June 21, 2026

The Ipil National High School – Senior Red Cross Youth Council (INHS SRCYC) rendered valuable service today by assisting the official medical team during the Invitational Amateur Boxing Tournament held at Brgy. Ipil Gym.

Called upon to help ensure the safety and well-being of all participants and spectators, the student volunteers supported medical personnel in monitoring conditions, preparing first aid supplies, and providing immediate assistance whenever needed. Their presence helped keep the event organized and responsive to any minor injuries or health concerns that arose during the bouts.

The council expresses sincere gratitude to RFL Promotions for extending the invitation and giving them the chance to apply their first aid and emergency response training in a real setting. They also thank Brgy. Captain Ferdinand M. Besario and SK Chairperson Rochelle Mar Gesta for their trust, support, and warm accommodation throughout the activity.

“This experience taught us that service and readiness matter. We are proud to stand alongside professionals in keeping everyone safe,” shared an INHS SRCYC officer.

The activity once again highlights the council’s mission of being ready to serve the community beyond school grounds.

INHS SRCYC Coastal Clean-Up Drive

Ipil National High School | June 15, 2026

The Ipil National High School – Senior Red Cross Youth Council (INHS SRCYC) conducted a Coastal Clean-Up Drive for School Year 2026–2027, held at a nearby coastal area. The activity brought together student volunteers to collect trash and debris along the shoreline. The initiative aims to protect marine ecosystems, promote environmental awareness, and instill a sense of responsibility among the youth.

According to the council, this effort marks the start of their environmental advocacy for the school year, proving that students can lead meaningful change.

“Small actions create big impacts. We hope this inspires other groups to join us in caring for our nature,” shared a representative from INHS SRCYC.

The activity concluded with a reminder that PRESERVING THE ENVIRONMENT IS EVERYONE'S DUTY.

INHS SRCYC Helps Conduct Nutritional Assessment for SY 2026–2027

Ipil National High School | June 08-11, 2026

The Ipil National High School – Senior Red Cross Youth Council (INHS SRCYC) extended support to the School Clinic In-Charge, Mr. FJ Perez, in gathering baseline nutritional data for the new school year.

Working together, the student volunteers assisted in measuring the height and weight of learners from Grade 7 to Grade 12. This activity serves as the official baseline assessment to determine each student’s nutritional status for School Year 2026–2027.

The data collected will help identify students needing nutrition support and guide school health programs.

“Our members are happy to help ensure this process runs smoothly. Monitoring health starts with accurate records,” said an INHS SRCYC officer.

The activity reflects the council’s commitment to supporting school health and wellness initiatives.

INHS-SRCYC JOINS 2026 BRIGADA ESKWELA KICK-OFF WITH LIFE-SAVING HEALTH INITIATIVE

As the 2026 Brigada Eskwela officially gets underway, the student council of Ipil National High School – Senior Red Cross Youth Council (INHS-SRCYC) is bringing more than just preparation and service to the campus. This year, they are launching the meaningful program “TYPE MO BA ANG BLOOD KO?” — a health initiative designed to empower learners, parents, and visitors with important knowledge about their own health.

In partnership with Barangay Ipil Health Center, the activity features key services led by resident Medical Technologist Ms. Christine Jane Reyes. Participants will have the opportunity to determine their blood type through accurate and reliable testing, while also availing of blood pressure monitoring services.

This project goes beyond the usual tasks of Brigada Eskwela, combining community service with health awareness. It aims to help individuals become more informed about their well-being, while fostering a spirit of care and responsibility within the school and surrounding community. Whether preparing for the new school year or taking steps toward better health, everyone is invited to join and benefit from this collaborative effort.

Paving the Way for Progress: INHS Holds Pre-Construction Conference for New Multi-Purpose Gymnasium

IPIL NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL – April 10, 2026 – A significant milestone was achieved today as the Ipil National High School (INHS) community gathered for the Pre-Construction Conference of the upcoming INHS Multi-Purpose Gymnasium. Held at 10:00 AM, the event brought together key stakeholders, government representatives, and school officials to formally kick off preparations for a facility expected to transform learning and community activities.

The program was hosted by FJ Perez, INHS Clinic In-charge and WinS Coordinator. To set the vision and tone of the activity, District VI Public Schools District Supervisor (PSDS), Dr. Inday Robbie A. Cubillan, delivered the opening remarks, expressing her optimism and support for the project that will benefit thousands of learners.

Providing the technical details of the undertaking, Engineer Aguilar, representing the City Engineering Office, presented the comprehensive project plan. He walked the attendees through the architectural design, detailed scope of work, and the official construction schedule, ensuring transparency and clarity on what the community can expect as the structure takes shape.

Following the presentation, messages of gratitude and commitment were shared by the partners of the institution. Barangay Captain Ferdinand M. Besario affirmed the local government's support, emphasizing the strong collaboration between the barangay and the school. Representing the educators, Faculty President Mery Ann L. Hinautan expressed her thanks, noting how the facility will greatly enhance the teaching and learning environment. SPTA President Ester Q. Tan spoke on behalf of the parents, highlighting the importance of such infrastructure in the holistic development of their children. Meanwhile, SSLG President Jerry Tejano—who also serves as a Red Cross Youth Member—delivered an inspiring message on behalf of the student body, joined by SSLG Vice President and fellow Red Cross Youth Member Khiarra Mae Tan, representing the generation that will benefit most from the gymnasium.

A poignant moment followed as the entire INHS Family recited their Statement of Commitment, pledging to be responsible stewards of the project and the future facility.

To conclude the program, all participants proceeded to the designated area for a site inspection, visualizing the space where the new gymnasium will stand. The community is now eagerly anticipating the official Groundbreaking Ceremony scheduled for Monday, April 13, 2026, marking the official start of construction.

This initiative stands as a testament to what collective effort and strong partnerships can achieve, promising a brighter, more equipped future for the students of Ipil National High School.
