INHS SRCYC Volunteers Ensure Safe Easter Sunday for Surigaonons

Ipil, Surigao City – April 5, 2026 – The Ipil National High School Senior Red Cross Youth Council (INHS SRCYC) demonstrated their commitment to community service this Easter Sunday by deploying volunteer teams to Ipil Pebble Beach and Looc Beach. This initiative, undertaken in collaboration with the Phiippine Red Cross- SDN Chapter, Philippine Coast Guard, City Rescue, and the Philippine National Police (PNP), aimed to ensure the safety and well-being of Surigaonons who flocked to these popular beach destinations, along with Mabua Beach, to celebrate the holiday.

With Easter Sunday traditionally drawing large crowds to the coastal areas, the INHS SRCYC recognized the potential for emergencies and proactively positioned their volunteers to respond swiftly. Two stations were established: one at Ipil Pebble Beach, conveniently located just outside INHS, and another at Looc Beach.

The Ipil Team provided immediate first aid services, with volunteers expertly performing wound dressing for minor injuries. Meanwhile, the Looc Team actively patrolled the beach, moving from one cottage to another to monitor beachgoers and offer blood pressure checks. This proactive approach allowed the volunteers to identify potential health concerns and provide early intervention.

The dedication and vigilance of the INHS SRCYC, along with the support from the Philippine Coast Guard and PNP, contributed significantly to a safe and enjoyable Easter Sunday for everyone. Thankfully, no major beach-related emergencies were reported throughout the entire duty period, a testament to the effective planning and ex*****on of this valuable community initiative. The INHS SRCYC's efforts underscore the importance of youth involvement in promoting public safety and community welfare.

Diverse Student Membership

The club is composed of 49 students spanning Grades 7 to 11, representing the school’s diverse student body. Each member brings unique perspectives and a shared commitment to making a positive impact in their school and community.

Comprehensive First Aid Training

Prior to the official launch, all 49 students underwent intensive training on Red Cross Youth Leadership, Mental Health, First Aid and Basic Life Support from February 23 to 25, 2026, conducted by the Philippine Red Cross-Surigao del Norte Chapter.
