A new chapter of student leadership begins at South Cotabato State College!

The 22nd Board of Trustees (BOT) Meeting of South Cotabato State College (SCSC) was held today, October 8, 2026, at the Board Room, 4th Floor, HEDC Building, CHED Central Office, C.P. Garcia Ave., Diliman, Quezon City.

During the meeting,𝗡𝗶𝗲𝗹 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗖. 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗼, 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 (𝗦𝗦𝗖) 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗖𝗦𝗖 officially took his oath as the 5th Student Trustee of South Cotabato State College.

This milestone marks another meaningful step in strengthening student representation and ensuring that the voices, concerns, and aspirations of SCSCians are heard at the highest level of the institution.

TECHNOLOGY DAY: South Cotabato State College (SCSC) opened Technology Day 2026 on October 7 with the grand opening program, followed by various student-led activities and course-based booths across the campus.

The Bachelor of Entrepreneurship students operated food stalls featuring offerings from different year levels. The program will conduct the TechnoPreneurship Day 2026 raffle, with a tablet, induction stove, and rice cooker as its major prizes, alongside various consolation prizes.

The Bachelor of Multimedia Arts (BMMA) students held an Art Booth featuring an art showcase, custom drawing and portrait requests, face painting, a reading corner and manga rental, figurine displays, and an Anik-Anik Corner.

The Bachelor of Science in Development Communication also conducted its Technology Day entitled HILIUSA 2026 activities on the first day, including the Quiz Bowl, Banner Display and Judging, and Documentary Voice Over, and MLBB Tournament.

BSA-related activities held on the first day included chute making, rodeo skills, booth preparation, and started their instution's program with the parade of the different factions: Taga-Laot, Taga-Patag, Taga-Kalakal, Taga-Gubat

The Bachelor of Technical-Vocational Teacher Education (BTVTED) also held its first-day activities following the grand opening. Its contest proper included Quiz Bee, Poster Making, Slogan Making, and Essay Writing, as well as an outdoor Larong Pinoy activity.

The first day of Technology Day 2026 concluded on October 7, with activities from BSTM scheduled to continue on the succeeding days.

From the prescribed top and bottoms to the proper footwear, here’s a quick guide to the uniform students are expected to wear on campus.

Attention, SCSCians!

All Freshmen and Transferee Students are hereby reminded to start wearing the proper prescribed school uniform beginning October 5, 2026 (Monday).

Students are expected to wear the complete and appropriate school uniform during class days and while inside the campus, in accordance with the College’s existing rules and regulations.

𝗦𝗖𝗦𝗖 𝗕𝗦𝗧𝗠 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗼 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

Students from the Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM) program of South Cotabato State College (SCSC) joined the South Cotabato Tourism Month Celebration 2026, highlighting the role of digital technology and artificial intelligence in shaping the future of tourism.

Anchored on the theme, “Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism,” the celebration brought together tourism and hospitality students from different institutions across the province for a series of educational and skills-based activities.

The SCSC BSTM delegation participated in several competitions, including boothmaking, infographic presentation, quiz bee, tour guiding, and Lakambini ng Turismo 2026. Through these activities, the students demonstrated their creativity, communication skills, tourism knowledge, and understanding of the industry.

The delegation was led by Mr. Genemar G. Mortera, MITH, BSTM Program Chair and President of the Tourism and Hospitality Educators Association of South Cotabato (THEA-SC). He was supported by Dr. Devee Grace D. Benavidez, IBEM Department Chair, together with the IBEM faculty members.

Personnel from the SCSC Public Relations and Information Office (PRIO) were also present to document and support the college’s participation in the celebration.

The event was organized by THEA-SC, under the leadership of Mr. Mortera, in partnership with the Provincial Government of South Cotabato – Tourism Office, headed by Mr. Francis Cerbo.

Through their participation, SCSC BSTM students gained opportunities to put their academic learning into practice, strengthen their skills, and engage with fellow tourism students and educators in activities that promote the development of the tourism industry in South Cotabato.

𝗕𝗦 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗜 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗼 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗽

Four third-year Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (BSA) students from South Cotabato State College (SCSC) participated in the AI Ready South Cotabato: Technopreneurship Bootcamp on September 29, 2026, at Dreamweavers Hotel, City of Koronadal.

Representing SCSC were Rodjie Taule, Rayd Torres, Alexis B. Juadiong, and Zyryne Joi Tanael, who took part in the one-day bootcamp focused on artificial intelligence, technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

The activity brought together participants from different sectors to explore the potential of emerging technologies and their applications in developing innovative solutions and entrepreneurial opportunities.

The bootcamp was conducted through the partnership of the Provincial Government of South Cotabato, SICAD-SOX, and the South Cotabato ICT Council, alongside partner institutions including the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) South Cotabato, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Wadhwani Foundation.

The participation of the four BSA students provided them with an opportunity to learn about emerging technologies and technopreneurship, particularly their potential applications in agriculture and community development.

The initiative highlights the growing role of technology and innovation in agriculture, encouraging students to explore digital approaches that can contribute to addressing challenges and creating opportunities within the sector.
