December 17, 2025 | 𝑺𝒖𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒑 𝑻𝑩 𝑫𝑶𝑻𝑺 𝑪𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑹𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒘𝒂𝒍 𝑰𝒏𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏

An inspection was conducted by the Ministry of Health–Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MOH-BARMM), in line with the renewal of the license of the Sumisip TB DOTS Center. During the inspection, all required documents, facilities, and operational standards were found to be complete and well-prepared, reflecting the center’s strong compliance with regulatory requirements. The inspection team commended the facility for its excellent level of preparedness and organization. As a result of the exemplary outcome, the license of the Sumisip TB DOTS Center was successfully renewed. This achievement was made possible through the dedication and teamwork of the TB Coordinator Narjiya Conahi, Medical Technologist Wadzna Ibrahim, and ITIS Encoder Zaida Buddiman, whose collective efforts contributed significantly to the successful renewal.

LOOK | Standard First Aid (SFA) Training for Health Care Providers

The Municipality of Sumisip, through the Rural Health Unit (RHU) DRRM-H, successfully conducted a Standard First Aid (SFA) Training for Health Care Providers, in partnership with MOH-BARMM and facilitated by IPHO-Basilan.

A total of 32 Health Care Providers were trained to further strengthen emergency preparedness and lifesaving skills in the municipality.

This initiative reflects the LGU's continued commitment to building a more resilient and health-ready community through capacity development and inter-agency collaboration.

The Basilan Integrated Provincial Health Office NIP Team led by Sir Wymz V Molavosche, conducted a monitoring activity on the School-Based Immunization (SBI) Program to ensure that all eligible school-aged children receive complete and timely vaccines against preventable diseases.

The team, together with the dedicated staff of RHU-Sumisip assigned in Benembengan BHS Sir Imbran Dano, Barangay Health Workers, and Upper Benembengan Elementary School personnel headed by Sir Abubakar P. Dinil, provided on-site support to ensure a smooth and successful immunization session.

Grade 1 learners received Measles-Rubella (MR) and Tetanus-Diphtheria (TD) vaccines, while Grade 4 girls were given the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine — protecting them from serious, preventable diseases.

Empowering young minds for a healthier future!

An informative Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) Orientation was successfully conducted for the Grade 4, 5, and 6 pupils of Buli-Buli Elementary School.

The lecture was delivered by HEPO Sitti-Anija Kiman and PHN Madzna Hadjala, with the full support of the Sumisip Rural Health Unit (RHU) NCD Program Coordinator Ai Sali and CKD Program Coordinator Hana Dee.

The activity featured an engaging open forum and Q&A session, where pupils enthusiastically asked questions and shared what they learned about kidney health. Their curiosity and participation truly made the event impactful!

Our heartfelt appreciation to the Faculty and Staff of Buli-Buli Elementary School, headed by TIC Ma’am Isniera Bintie Abdurajak, for their warm welcome and cooperation and to the pupils for their active involvement throughout the orientation. 👏✨
