For the second consecutive year, the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) received โReporter Statusโ in the Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Rankings 2024, according to the report released on April 30, 2024.
This 12th edition of the THE Asia University Rankings utilized the same framework of the World University Rankings 3.0 methodology, in evaluating the universities across all their core missions - teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook; but the weightings are specially recalibrated to reflect the priorities of Asian institutions and to provide the most comprehensive and balanced comparisons.
Specifically, THE focused on the following performance indicators: Research quality (30%); Research environment which includes volume, income, and reputation (28%); Teaching, which measures the learning environment (24.5%); Industry (10%); and international outlook (7.5%).
NEUST was one of the 1,127 universities in Asia region that participated in the THE Asia University Rankings 2024 from which 388 institutions have been given reporter status.
According to David Watkins, head of THE data science, a โreporterโ university is a learning institution that is an active participant in the rankings process and provides data to the Times Higher Education; it is listed alphabetically at the end of the ranking table and rather than being assigned a rank number, it is instead labeled reporter institution.
