Calling all students, faculty, and nature enthusiasts! It’s time to roll up our sleeves and give back to our beautiful environment.

J.P. Laurel High School, in proud collaboration with Layuan Integrated Farm and the 4H Club, is organizing a community-wide Coastal Clean-Up Drive. Let’s work together to preserve our local shores and protect our marine life!

🧤 What to Bring
To ensure a safe and productive cleanup, please come prepared:
Comfortable Clothing: Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty (school PE uniform is recommended).
Sun Protection: Hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen.
Hydration: Please bring a reusable water bottle to help us stay plastic-free!
Gear: If you have gardening gloves or reach-extenders, please bring them along.

Some participants including Irosin Local Mushrooms, Kate mushroom, Layuan Nature Farm Project, Layuan Rural Improvement Club, and Bicool Pastil, Mr. Jinjati were given space to sell their value-added products and were able to network with their fellow entrepreneur attendees.

Today, the training on mushroom production officially concluded at the Sorsogon Dairy Production Training Center.

The event brought together participants from across Sorsogon province. It was organized by the 4-H Club Sorsogon Federation with the goal of providing technical training to existing youth mushroom growers and start-up enterprises, as well as encouraging more young people to take up mushroom farming.

Attendees included 4-H members, farmers, school teachers from BNHS and JP Laurel High School (who serve as advisers or coordinators of 4-H Clubs in their respective schools), and Catanduanes State University (CatSU) students currently completing their On-the-Job Training (OJT) at the institution.

The training was made possible through the support of the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office V (DA RFO V), which provided technical expertise in the person of Mr. Pedro Oliver. The Sorsogon Dairy Production Training Center (SDPTC) contributed training toolkits, fruiting bags for each participant, and raffle prizes.

Catering for the participants’ meals was arranged and provided by HVCDP - Region V through the Provincial Agriculture and Fisheries Council (PAFC) Sorsogon.
