🔎 Did you know? The Shroud of Turin bears the faint front-and-back image of a crucified man and has long been studied for its remarkable details, including apparent wounds consistent with crucifixion. Its authenticity remains a subject of ongoing scholarly and religious discussion.

Today, we celebrate the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, rejoicing in the hope of eternal life and the promise of sharing in Christ’s glory.

May Mary, assumed body and soul into heaven, lead us ever closer to her Son and inspire us to live with faith, hope, and unwavering trust in God.

𝗔𝗨𝗚𝗨𝗦𝗧 09, 2026 | 𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗧𝗟𝗘 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗖𝗜𝗣𝗟𝗘𝗦 𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗬

Today’s Little Disciples Activity reflected on the Gospel story of Jesus walking on water, reminding us that even in difficult times, we are called to trust in Him. Peter was able to walk toward Jesus as long as he kept his eyes on Him, but when he became distracted by the strong wind and waves, fear took over and he began to sink. This reminds us that while it is normal to feel afraid, we should not allow fear to keep us from trusting Jesus. When we face challenges and difficult situations, let us pray, remain faithful, and remember that Jesus is always with us.

In the same spirit of faith and trust, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who generously supported and helped make today’s activity possible.

The Diocesan Youth Commission (DYC) Sorsogon officially opens its CALL FOR PILGRIMS for the World Youth Day 2027 in Seoul, South Korea on August 3 - 8, 2027. Parish and Kapilya Youth Ministers and Youth Ministers from various Religious Organizations of Sorsogon are humbly invited to be part of this spirit filled encounter of Young People of the World.

How to be part of the official delegation?

1. Secure your recommendation letter from your Parish Priest addressed to:

2. Accomplish the Individual Registration Form (accessible thru the DYC Sorsogon official page) which you will receive upon submission of the duly signed recommendation letter.
3. Attend the General Orientation to be announced by the Diocesan Youth Commission Secretariat for World Youth Day 2027.
4. Participation to series of preparatory meetings and activities shall be required to all interested pilgrims.
5. Complete documentary requirements for visa application and other matters will be given to all confirmed pilgrims.
6. A single official group delegation will be formed through DYC, duly recommended by The Roman Catholic Diocese of Sorsogon. Only those pilgrims with the approval of the Bishop shall form the official pilgrim delegation of the Diocese.
7. Submit your recommendation letter on or before August 16, 2026 (Sunday) until 11:59PM thru [email protected] and a hardcopy that shall be submitted to the secretariat.
