WE DID NOT GET THIS FAR TO ONLY GET THIS FAR. LET’S END POLIO FOR GOOD! 🌍❤️

Every October 24, the world observes World Polio Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of Dr. Jonas Salk, who led the development of the first successful inactivated polio vaccine. It is a day to celebrate how far humanity has come in the fight against polio and to remind ourselves that our mission is not yet over.

Today, Rotary, Rotaract, and Interact Clubs in Naga City came together in solidarity for our End Polio Motorcade, followed by a heartwarming Community Walk and Snack with the children of Panicuason. ❤️

As we shared smiles, stories, and simple moments with these children, we were reminded of something worth celebrating: The Philippines was certified polio-free in 2000, a milestone made possible through decades of vaccination efforts and collective action.

But while our children benefit from these efforts, children in Afghanistan and Pakistan, the last two countries where wild poliovirus remains endemic, continue to face the threat of this preventable disease.

Every child deserves the same chance to grow up healthy, safe, and free from polio, regardless of where they are born.

Through continued awareness, vaccination efforts, volunteerism, and financial contributions, we can help the Global Polio Eradication Initiative reach the last children who remain vulnerable.

WE ARE THIS CLOSE TO MAKING HISTORY! 💛

Smallpox was the first human disease eradicated from the planet. Together, we have the opportunity to make polio the second.

And we did not come this far just to come this far.

To every Rotarian, Rotaractor, Interactor, volunteer, and supporter who joined today’s activities, thank you for keeping this mission alive.

SMALL SIGNS. BIG REMINDERS. LIVES WORTH PROTECTING. 🚸💛

The Rotary Club of Naga Heights officially turned over reflectorized pedestrian crossing signages to the City Government of Naga, through Mayor Leni Robredo and Councilor AReiz Macaraig, as part of our continuing commitment to promoting road safety and protecting lives.

Designed to improve visibility, especially at night, these signages carry a simple but important reminder to every motorist: SLOW DOWN. PREPARE TO STOP. YIELD TO PEDESTRIANS.

Because sometimes, a few seconds of patience behind the wheel can mean a lifetime for someone crossing the road. ❤️

Sa kalsada, respeto at disiplina ang kailangan. Unahin ang kaligtasan ng bawat isa.

Ang Pamahalaang Bayan ng Milaor, katuwang ang Jamer Law at Rotary Club of Naga Heights, ay nag-aanyaya sa mga nangangailangan sa ating Free Legal Aid Clinic.
