"Career Quest 2025: Empowering Students Through Career Guidance and Mental Health Advocacy"
March 27-28, 2025, marked the successful launch of Career Quest: Guiding Unique Individuals for Career Discovery and Exploration, a two-day program aimed at empowering students with career insights and mental health awareness. The event blended purposeful guidance, engaging activities, and heartfelt celebrations to inspire Grades 10-12 students to explore their futures holistically.
Day 1: Career Discovery and Passion Showcase
The first day began with a culturally rich opening led by Grade 10 students, featuring Filipinism and prayer. Maria Cristina B. De Asis provided the rationale for the event, followed by opening remarks from Lo**ta G. Tumalluan. Key topics were addressed during the symposium: Ma. Aleli M. Mabborang tackled mental health challenges among children and adolescents, while Mayet C. Ubina introduced PESO’s career support services.
After intermission, Jay Jay D. Manangan guided students through the RIASEC Career Interest Test, helping them identify their career preferences. Jennifer Lou Abuzo highlighted Senior High School pathways to further equip students for future decisions.
The afternoon was filled with excitement as students participated in the Search for Career Ambassador and Ambassadress, showcasing their unique passions and talents. The day concluded with acknowledgments by Ma. Rosario B. Iringan, closing remarks from Elizabeth P. Ubina, and an awarding ceremony capped with joyful photo opportunities.
Day 2: Transformative Journeys for Senior High Students
Day two focused on Grades 11-12 students and emphasized the importance of blending career guidance with mental health advocacy for holistic success. Hosted by Catherine Libranda and Marvin Palattao of the SHS Guidance Advocates Club, the day began with a national anthem led by Sonnybie Abalde and a heartfelt prayer by Jashmine Beran.
Speakers like Edmar Sagun demystified DepEd’s curriculum exits, while Ma. Aleli M. Mabborang addressed adolescent mental health challenges. Precy Gatchalian-Cristobal shared business opportunities in place of Lourdito B. Antonio, adding entrepreneurial insights to the discussions.
The afternoon celebrated creativity during the Search for Best in Career Attire and Career Expo judging, where students showcased strand-specific outfits (HUMSS, STEM, ABM, TVL). Judges evaluated booths and attire based on innovation and ambition.
The event wrapped up with closing remarks from Arnold Teodoro emphasizing values-driven success, followed by an awarding ceremony led by Ma. Rosario B. Iringan and Cristina de Asis. Participants gathered for photo ops to commemorate a transformative experience that blended growth, discovery, and empowerment.
Career Quest 2025 proved to be more than just a career guidance program; it was a celebration of purpose, passion, and well-being—preparing students for not only professional success but personal fulfillment as well!
