🎉 Today, we proudly commemorate the 128th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence, honoring the bravery, sacrifice, and patriotism of the Filipino people who fought for our nation's freedom.
📜 𝐀 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐇𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲: On June 12, 1898, Philippine independence was proclaimed in Kawit, Cavite, marking a historic milestone in our nation's journey toward self-determination and sovereignty. On this day, the Philippine flag was first unfurled, symbolizing the birth of a free and united Filipino nation.
💡 𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰? • Independence Day was originally celebrated on July 4 until 1962. • The celebration was later moved to June 12 to honor the day Filipinos declared independence from Spanish colonial rule. • The eight rays of the sun on the Philippine flag represent the first eight provinces that revolted against Spain.
🎓 As we celebrate 128 years of freedom, let us honor our heroes not only through remembrance but also through our actions as responsible citizens, dedicated learners, and proud Filipinos.
