Run for Hacienda 2026 Raises Funds for School Library, Community Learning Projects.

GMYO proudly joined the Run for Hacienda 2026, not just to run, but to support a meaningful cause. This fun run was organized to help raise funds for the construction of a school library and community learning projects for Gil Montilla Elementary School. Being part of this event reminded us that every step we take can help build better learning opportunities for the youth and the community. Together, we ran with purpose, passion, and the shared goal of supporting education and creating a brighter future for everyone.

“If you want change, you have to participate.”
This was the inspiring message shared by Mar Labandilo, President of GMYO, during the event. Inspiring the youth is a great privilege, as it allows us to share knowledge, experiences, and the belief that positive change is truly possible.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Mar Labandilo , one of the guest speakers at the SK Assembly Meeting, for motivating the youth to believe in their capacity to create change and to take part in community development.

We also thank and congratulate the SK members for allowing us to introduce GMYO to the community. Additionally, we are deeply grateful to our Punong Barangay, Gema Trio, for providing a safe and welcoming venue where everyone felt comfortable.

Our heartfelt appreciation also goes to the LGU of Sipalay and the LYDO, for their unwavering support and guidance.

Lastly, we thank all the participants who attended the assembly and everyone who supported the event. Your presence and involvement truly made a difference.

Shyness or fear is not a hindrance to lead but the willingness, courage and the power to empower our fellow youth. The lesson that I learned throughout the 2 days training entitled "Organizational Leadership and Sustainability" are the things that I will inculcate to myself to be a good example not just to my fellow youth but as a citizen of our community. I learned a lot of things to be a good leaders. Listen more than you speak, inspire and motivate our fellow youth and also by improving our communication skill because it is the key to create relationship, collaboration, and to make our goal success when we unite. As a youth leader we are not just only dictating or having more title but to serve as a good example to our community. And I always remember that "A good leaders is a good followers".
